I bought this B-1R head earlier this year to use as a 1U Ampeg tube pre-amp. It has a great Ampeg sound. I believe this amp was made in the early 90s, but not sure on that. This particular amp has it's share of bumps and bruises, but works fine. It should be noted that these amps had a rep for overheating, so I would recommend against using this as a full blown head (though mine works fine used as a head in a low volume practice setting). Using it as a preamp worked flawlessly for me. I can e-mail the manual if you want to check it out - you can't download it from Ampeg's site directly.
