FT: Early 70s Ampeg V4 For SVT Pro?

Hey guys,

I have an Ampeg V4 from the early 1970s that I am looking to trade for an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro, 4 Pro, or 7 Pro. Usually, it may be the other way around in which a solid state/hybrid player is looking to go all tube (in terms of Ampeg atleast) but I am looking for that SVT Pro sound because it worked really well for me. I don't really "need" the all tube sound although it is obviously one of a kind.

This Ampeg V4 in particular was acquired last month through TalkBass and it has probably been played less than 10 times by me for no more than 15 minutes for each time.It has remained ontop of a Ampeg SVT410HEN (non HLF version) during that entire time and has NEVER been pushed.

NOW

The former owner owned this amp for ten years but has not played it for around eight years. In short, he obtained it ten years ago, but it has sat in a closet for 8 years, and then two more (after a short stint) and then again, recently to test it (prior to shipping) He informed me that it was in a closet for that entire time until he decided to sell it to me and tested it out for a few days. It is in excellent condition and has that typical Ampeg tube sound. The overdriven tone is absolutely amazing. Pure grunt and grind. This amp is rated at 100 watts, but as most of you may know, it sounds like A-L-O-T MORE. This thing literally shakes my house and I've even received some friendly neighbor "comments" about it as well

When the reverb knob is turned up there is a hum, but I have never used it anyway. It is very noticeable and would probably need to be fixed if you wanted a fully "functional" amplifier. Another thing to mention, when I FIRST received this amp, I let it warm up for 25 minutes. During that time, there was some crackling and muffling, but after about an hour or so it subsided and has not returned since. This was a month ago. It is probably due to the fact that it was not turned on or played with in quite some time. The tubes have alot of life in them still and function as they should.

So to wrap things up:

- Fully Functional (with the exception of the reverb)
- Has not been pushed hard
- Tubes seem to have plenty of life in them (although I am not an expert in tube amplifiers)
- Heavy, but lighter than your average SVT (I don't have a scale due to Hurricane Sandy..
- Comes from a smoke free home
- Will include a flight/transportation case that fits the amplifier beautifully and will aid in the shipping process.
- A CLEAN amp. This thing is clean inside and out and does not show any dirt or residue of any kind.

I am looking for an SVT 3 Pro/SVT 4 Pro/SVT 7 Pro.. or something along those lines. Ampeg only though guys.

If anyone wants to buy it outright.. PLEASE PM me.. although I would rather trade. I can get you a good deal on this since I got it for a good deal also!

SOME pictures for now. I will post some more later on or tomorrow morning. If you have any questions/comments/or even suggestions, PLEASE PM me. I check my PMS much more than my threads (easier from the app) If there is a question that seems to be a common question, I will post it for others to see on here. The case in the pictures will be the one you would be getting. Money can be added to to right deal too (but not TOO much)

Thanks guys!

I ACTUALLY just found a local sale. Although nothing is concrete, I am going to see if I can get it going to save on shipping.. This amp is NOT sold yet but I will close this thread for now. If anyone else has any interest, I will definitely listen.
