FT Feeler: QSC PLX2502 for your 1804/DCM1540L (maybe others)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey folks,

I just picked up this PLX2502 in a trade and am thinking about swapping to an XTI2000 or a 1540L for a lighter biamp only rig - since I have no real need to bridge except at 8 ohms maybe (and my current 1540L is enough for that).

The 2502 is basically brand new in great shape, works perfectly in all respects. Per the previous owner it was purchased this year so should have 5-6 years of warranty left although I can give a prospective buyer the serial number or check that if it's an issue.

I'm wanting an XTI2000 + 250 cash, or a 1540L + 250 cash, ish. Willing to barter if you've got other stuff or what have you.

I will also accept other amp options if they meet the qualifications (lots of watts per channel @ 8 ohms, light weight).

Also, long shot, but if you've got an Iamp pro or a Shuttle 9.0 or an SD800/LM800, I might be willing to work a deal out.

To the top! It's just a cellphone pic but you get the idea.

Will consider full cash offers for sure!

Sorry, full cash offers should be in the neighborhood of 650 + shipping Got a couple nibbles so get 'em in while you can

Regarding the warranty: original purchase date was 12/3/2007, so with registration the warranty should be til 12/3/2013 (you can register it in your name with the purchase date and serial number).

Just to throw out one comment on this amp: One place where this power amp really shines (WAAAY) over other power amps is the excellently designed high pass filter. It's something that's not paid attention to much, but Genz Benz has (unlike most bass amp manufacturers) put an intense amount of effort into providing a smooth low end rolloff which tightens up the low end and prevents a lot of driver damage by cutting sub-lows. It's surprisingly complex to do a good job of this without messing up your sound.

The QSC circuit is really excellent, and the difference between it and the Carvin DCM power amp which has no low cut, is pretty remarkable - the QSC's got a lot more smooth oomph down low. I use an outboard low end shelving pedal for the Carvin and would not consider running the amp without one. With the QSC you get that built in and a much longer warranty for not a lot more money (used, anyway).

Still around; considering trades, but willing to bend more for cash sales obviously

Shuttle 9.0s, LM800s and Iamp Pros are at the top of my trade list. Super light and capable of a lot of watts at 8 ohms. Willing to throw cash or a Preamp + rack in on trades potentially For an Iamp Pro I'll do the HBP-1 and the QSC in an anvil rack straight up.

Badabumperoo. Still available!

Edit: Adding: The PLX 1804 is off the table. Found out it doesn't have the high pass built in, so not something I'm interested in. Added an XTI2000 (crown) as a possible trade, with cash.
