FT or FS - Gallien Krueger 1001RB, completely rebuilt; Lower Price!

I've only had this amp a few months, bought it used here on TB and shipped it out to GK to have all of the boards replaced, so it is basically in brand-new condition. This amp is a monster with power for days, and that is the problem - its more than I need. It tends to overdrive my cabs (2 Aguilar DB112s), and I don't want to have to haul around more speakers.

So I am open to any trade ideas, other than a micro head (I already have a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 that I use for practice and backup).

So if anyone has the need for more power and wants to talk about trading what you are currently using, hit me up and lets talk.

EDIT: Now open to a sale, with a lower price. I realize that I am asking more than most of the GK1001s for sale on this forum, but this amp was just completely rebuilt by GK with all new boards. Will sell for $525 shipped to CONUS, still open to trades.

Bump for anyone looking for a showroom-condition powerhouse. Hit me up with any trade ideas, especially heads with a little less power.

Might also consider selling it, would look for $650 (what I have into it after GK factory rebuild up to RBII specs). GK even threw in a new top plate and brand new rack ears.

Why did it need to have all the boards replaced?

It was my choice; when I got the amp, there was slight distortion and when I talked to the GK techs, they said that GK has an offer to replace the entire workings (except the power supply) for $200 plus shipping, which basically brings it up to current standards as an RBII. Since I was shipping it to them anyway to have it serviced, I decided it was worth having it all redone.

It now works flawlessly and has tons of power, just more than I need for what I use it for...

Hope that helps - the GK tech guys were great, spent alot of time on the phone and really went through the whole unit - even trhew in a new enclosure cover top to make it look brand new!

Bump - no interest so far in any trades. If no action in a day or two will sell or trade in locally (but always start with TB).

mdogs - interesting, I haven't owned an Ampeg since 1968 (my first amp, a B-15N) but will look into it. What kind of condition is it in?

It is in great shape, just retubed it. This amp is a little different in that it has 5 tubes. I believe that 3 of the tubes are used in the preamp section and the other 2 tubes drive the solid state power section. Very nice amp, very versitile, but I actually need a little more power.

Sorry, but I think I'm going to pass on the Ampeg. May switch to a direct sale (and lower price!)
