FT/FS: My Ampeg SVT-VR for your Aguilar DB750 **TRADED**

I guess I'll need to file this under one of my "what was I thinking" life experiences. I've been lusting after an SVT ever since I was a kid (I turn 50 next month). I finally broke down and bought one (an SVT-VR, to be exact), and while it's everything I imagined....it's more (including the weight). While the Aggie still comes in at 43 lbs, it's still half the weight of the SVT. I discovered quickly this monster was going to be more than I want to carry around (WWIT?).

Anyway, I have a newer SVT-VR that is in mint condition. I just got it last week, plugged my '72 Precision in, knocked some paint off my walls and put it away. It works great and looks almost like new. The previous owner took very good care of it. It will ship in it's original box, and include the power cord, Speakon-to-1/4" speaker cord and manual. I believe it is one of the Vietnamese models, and since I just got it last week, I haven't touched the tubes or the bias. It was basically plug and play.

I'm looking for an Aguilar DB750 in similar condition, for an even-up trade. I'd prefer one of the newer ones with the flat rack handles.

In my infinite wisdom, I even bought a brand new ATA case for the SVT head. While I wouldn't include that as part of the trade, I'd be willing to sell it separately...for an additional $150 shipped (it cost me nearly $200).

While I would really prefer a straight-up trade, I'd be willing to sell the SVT outright for $1400 shipped to the lower 48.

So if you've also been lusting after an SVT, and you have an Aggie DB750 you're willing to trade....let's talk.

Questions/inquiries can be sent through a PM or shoot me an e-mail at peabody59@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Here are a couple of additional pics. According to the serial number, I'm pretty sure it was manufactured in 2008. I swear this amp could pass for new....

I want it! But I have a '74 SG I need to unload before any amp purchasing.

PS I felt the need to say, after glancing at your profile, that I also have a 1975 Ric 4001 in white! Here's a bump for that

Good luck on your sale...and just let me know when you're ready to roll.

I bought my current Rick about a year ago. It's a great bass. I had one I bought brand new in 1977 that looked just like it (and sold it after just a couple of years) so I decided to buy another one and recapture my youth. It's funny, because in the late 70's, I sold my Rick to buy a Peavey T-40...oh the things we do....

I sold my DB750 to get an SVT-VR. Where were you a year ago?

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks....a year ago I had a DB750 too. Even though I haven't had a lot of time to spend with the Ampeg, I sure do like the sound. If it were just a little lighter.....

The SVT has officially been traded and is heading south. Thanks George!
