Up for trade is my late 60's (i believe) Traynor YBA-1 MKII Bassmaster all tube head. It pushes 90w at 8 ohms, which has been more than enough on a variety of gigs in the past for me. the transformer is rated at 8 ohms, however i have gotten confirmation from many technicians that the overbuilding of the transformer (weighs a TON) allows the head to safely run at 4 ohms. I have done so briefly to no ill effect, but not for longer than an hour at a clip. Cosmetically, the only issue is that the handle is a bit spent and does not sit flush when pushed in. otherwise, it is a great looking unit.
I have never encountered an issue with this head, and the tone is astounding. Channel 1 is bassy, channel 2 is brighter, but daisy chaining them is devastating. I greatly enjoyed banging out Thrice songs on this head, with excellent grind and distortion when pushed. the EQ section is also pretty expansive, with excellent tonal control.
I'm looking to trade this for similarly matched all tube head from the same era. I would LOVE to snag a Musicman HD130 or HD150, Ampeg V4 variant, or Mesa D180, but I'm open to many options of the like. feel free to PM me with offers, and I'm more than happy to Email additional pics!
