Hi Talkbass,
I'm gearing up to purchase a tube head and will consequently have to sell gear to purchase new gear!
To my understanding this is the first head that Genz Benz came out with for bass. It is officially the GBE-500H, a 500+ watt head with a tube and solid state preamp. I bought it used when I was living in Connecticut in 2004 and it's traveled with me since then. It has been serviced once since I got it, and that was for a microphonic preamp tube. Otherwise this thing has been rock solid.
Details for the amp are as follows:
Passive and active input
Input signal mute
FET gain and Tube gain
Tube dynamic controls
Signal and Clip LED
Active 4 band EQ
Tuner output jack
Effects in and out
Master Volume
Balanced DI
1/4” or speakon speaker outputs
275 watts at 8 ohms
400 watts at 4 ohms
525 watts at 2 ohms
Weight is about 21lbs.
After listening to the clips of the Streamliner and this amp, it gets really close to the sound of the Streamliner. Add this to the solid state preamp option and this is a remarkable head.
I'm including a Gator carrying case with the head that works perfect for protecting the head and getting it to gigs.
Regarding shipping, I will split the cost of shipping to the lower 48 US states and split the cost of shipping to anywhere in the Canadian provinces. Feel free to PM me for a quote for shipping.
I would also do a local sale anywhere in the greater Toronto area.
Paypal is best for payments.
Asking $400 US or Canadian currency is fine. PM me with any questions.
Thanks!
Dale.
