GK/Bag End Rig

Sign in to disble this ad
Sold.

GK 400RB bass head and a pair of Bag End S15D cabs. By all accounts one of the most solid, responsive, deliverin' club-style bass rigs to be found. Super-portable head and cabs will fit into any vehicle (except maybe those tiny "Smart Cars"), carry a small footprint for tight stages, and are all relatively lightweight cartage.

The Bag End S15-Ds (250w @ 8 ohms each) stack neatly, and when coupled in this way will deliver a 6dB boost in volume (in addition to the extra volume and presence from running both cabs at 4 ohms total impedance). 45 lbs. each.

The GK 400RB (200 watts @ 4 ohms, 150 watts at 8 ohms) is a time-tested classic offering a powerful sound with a wide spectrum of tonal possibilities, and packs a surprisingly loud and authoritative "200 watts" into 4 ohms. Weighs around 15 lbs.

This rig kills, will fill any room. No seller-speak here, it's the real deal. Beautiful sound, you will lack nothing to handle pretty much any gig. And it's easy loading both ways.

Notes: The GK ('88 model) needs a handle and has a couple bent heat-sink fins, it's been well-used. There are no signs of any issues however- turn it on and play, the thing is a small fortress. All the knobs and switches are intact, no other missing parts.

The Bag Ends are in fine shape, there's a faint shot of light pink spray paint on one grill. The price as advertised is a bargain, so I won't be negotiating bread.

Trades not sought, thank you!

Other people's musical needs at home (not food! ) recommends this sale. Money's just too tight to have everything at the same time. I am not unhappy with this rig... but no remorse!

$700 for the whole shootin' match. Alternatively, $250 for the GK head, $550 for the pair of Bag Ends. I'll sell the head separately, but the cabs are a pair.

Gimme a shout- I'm in RI so if you're local you can come plug in. I would prefer not to ship the cabs...

Insanity is over... and the amp is sold. I just bought it from myself. Don't know just now how I'm going to pay for it, but at least I can trust me, I think.

And I know where I live...

Thanks for all the bumps guys. I have to find another way to do this. I'm tired of looking for gear I like.

Ah, oops- sorry, my mistake here. By "amp" I meant head and cabs. It's off the block.

I got a little gung-ho on a line here, and have repented myself...

Someone's a lucky b-stard.
Nice, affordable rig.
Use 1 cab for practice or low vol gigs (most any bar or small club) and the 2nd cab for bigger stages where a PA will take care of the rest.

That's a fantastic rig, and yeah- keep it if you can! If it works don't fix it.

And here I thought I was the resident "Yankee". And yes I feel a little sheepish...... but I can deal with it. Thanks, right advice.

I know. And it's likely going to be a trim gear scene with this and a small combo for a good while. Honestly I'm quite happy about that.

The only thing I really want is my Rickie back... and that's an "on-the-horizon" thing.

And I appreciate the pep talks man! Consider yourself a brother.
