Additional specs at: http://www.glockenklang.com/en/produ...ducts_bass.htm
This is the version before they updated it to run at 2.67 ohms. From what I understand, it's a relatively simple modification to update it. Never had it done as I didn't see the need. This thing is loud! Very pleasing tone even at high volume and versatile and musical EQ. I bought it around the summer of 2005 and it has been kept clean.
New "street" price on these is $2,379... if you can still find one. $1,450 SHIPPED (ConUS). No trades. I can accept PayPal, MO, checks (will have to clear prior to shipment).

| | | | What is the quote? Talking about music is like dancing about architecture... Well I'll try... It is very transparent so you are going to hear whatever you plug into it. Frequency response is very even. Lows mids and highs are all equally present. The lows are strong and defined and even when turning up the bass it doesn't get muddy. The highs are crystal clear and sparkle without being harsh. You can easily dial in the midrange growl with the low-mid and mid freqs. The EQ is very well voiced.
I have found it to be quite loud. In fact I think it's louder than other comparable amps. Maybe they are more honest about their power rating. I don't know. In any case it's a fantastic amp and of course it's hard to judge without hearing yourself but I hope this helps.

Before you get to tone it's worth pointing out that Glockenklang is a small boutique manufacturer with very high build quality. When you buy their gear you get high quality electronics from people who are very proud of what they provide, and deservedly so.
On the tone side, Glock tends to have a warmth and ease of listening that is reminiscent of tubes, but at the same time has clear, articulate highs that are not grating or hard on the ears. Udo also seems to have a way of enabling you to crank the gain to get a bit of tube-like distortion. The Heart Rock is a slammer, it is hard to imagine that you could ever need more power. It is loud like a DB750 but not so vintagey in sound (as I hear it) - which is good or not so good depending on your personal tonal preferences. The HR weighs 38 lbs, if I remember correctly. Not light, but definitely liftable. The amp is used, so if you buy it and use if for a while you can always sell it without much financial loss...
FWIW, IMO, YMMV, ...,
Hope this helps,

That's it.
Being nearly as warm as a hybrid (tube/SS) amp, it retains the clear articulation of a SS amp and it succeeds in giving you the dynamics that you thought you could find only in tube-only amps.
The Heartrock does not give give you the fat bottom of a tube amp. And it's heavier than most SS amps. It's made for lovers of a clean and dynamic, warm and detailed sound. It can be very loud, but thanks to it's logarithmic master volume pot, it's easy to play it smooth with the same good results.
Conceptual somewhat similar to the Carvin B1500 (loud, clean, heavy) but premium soundwise (warmth, richness of detail, voicing) and in terms of buildquality. And maxiumum connectivity (effects, DI,...).
It gives you the tubeamp's fast and dynamic response (feel) that hybrids don't give to you
and it has a warm sound color (that hybrids may have too but other solidstate amps have not)
and with cranking the gain it can give you a very well balanced overdrive (that hybrids may have too but other solidstate amps have not)
and a lively, clear and detailed amplification of your basses sound, that most other SS or tube amps don't reach.

I picked one up about 2 months ago from another TBer and it is a killer amp. just as described above. fast, warm, punchy, clear with grind if you dial it in. but to be honest the amp sounds so good flat with any bass that I rarely feel the need to use the EQ. you have so much headroom and response that you can get all the tone you need from your fingers.
It also has a footswitchable, blendable effects loop, and tons of patching options in the back, and with a factory approved mod this thing can drive three eight-ohm cabs(8+8+8) or, a four-ohm plus an 8 ohm (4+8) giving you 1000 watts at 2.7 ohms.
All glocks are built like tanks, rumor has it that some of their original PA power amps have been running in German nightclubs for over 20 years without ever being turned off. these are solid!
