Great communication from GMan on this - super quick and thorough response to my PM - and I'm definitely in the hunt.
Kind of a trip...a few months back I did a session with one of these boxes. It's ridiculous. Added all kinds of tube gooey warmth, fatness, and grind to my Roscoe SKB, and left the engineer and artist very happy. I thought about getting one, but as with most things in life, my short attention span quickly washed away the thought. Fast forward to this month: two Saturday sessions with the same artist (and engineer). At the first session, they didn't have the DITTO. Ended up experimenting and using another bass to get closer to that ideal sound. Second session...the engineer was able to source the box, and...bada boom. Definitely made me realize that I have to have one of these things. The Roscoe? Sounded ridiculous. My Lull M5V? Good grief...the absolute most awesome jazz bass sound I've heard.
So...in the spirit of trying to be a good guy (
), here's a free bump. But act quickly... I'm checking out a box from a local seller tonight, but if that doesn't work out I'm definitely still in the hunt for this one.
