JBL K-140 in EAW Cab

Traded! Item is gone...

I had this posted awhile back with a Trace head, which has proven to be such a stout little chore-doer that I decided to keep it. But I need a 5-string bass, and I always say you can have everything, just not at the same time!

Dust-cap has a very small tear, which I've super-glued shut. No issues, sounds very nice indeed.

I'm interested in a decent 5-string bass in trade. Offers to buy would 'hit the floor' at $250, but 'neat' trade offers will get definite preference.

If you want just the speaker I'm still looking for a decent 5-string in trade.

I'd really like to do this locally... the cab isn't very heavy, but it's large by modern standards for a 1x15, and packing to ship and getting to the depot is a bit of a hassle just now. If you want me to ship you'll have to come up with some nice eloquent prose in less than 200 words. And throw in the dime...

Thanks for looking!

WOW! Flashback bump. I had two of these back in the mid 80's. That brought back a flood of memories.

I suppose two of these would sound really nice! If I had two I'd never have gotten the TL-606s, I don't think.

I really felt that the "K" was by far the best of the 140's.My favorite single 15 vintage sound. And you can change cabinet tuning, too.

You're not the first in my reading to say so. I do love the sound of this speaker, myself.

And yes, the cab tuning is made easy with these. I have Epoxy'd the PVC into the port flanges, but the ports are presently around 5" deep, probably longer than ideal- most; likely you'd have to cut down to smaller . Run the JBL with the cab measurements/int volume in WinISD and you'll get the best port length.

Thanks for the bumps!

I must be more discombobulated/disorganized than I thought! I thought I'd nixed this thread, guess not...

I'm sorry, the cab has been dealt with- it went off in a swap deal about 2 weeks ago. My apologies! I'm editing the top post appropriately.
