This is a LDS 1515/66/1 cabinet. I purchased it brand new from LDS this past August. It is a variation on the fEarful Impaler design. It features two Eminence 3015LF 15" speakers, two 6.5" 18Sound 6nd410 mids, and a 1" selenium horn. The crossover points are 800 and 4.5k Hz. I believe the crossover was done by R. Paterson, and the cab is rated for 1,000 watts at 4 ohms.
The cab is finished in Duratex, however there was some spitting from the applicator, and thus the finish has small pockmarks here and there. Honestly, if I hadn't been told that the finish was not done correctly, I would have thought that it looked fine, and the pockmarks were just how the finish looks normally.
This cab comes with a custom cover purchased specifically for this cab. I will provide better photographs of the cab and cover when I get back home in a few days.
The cab was never gigged, but it sounds wonderful. The tweeter is adjustable with a dial on the back.
I am selling this cab for $7.22 per pound shipped. This is less than steak, and the cab, unlike steak, is completely cholesterol free. It works the best if you buy all 90 pounds of it, which makes the shipped price $650. If you want to pick it up locally (I now reside in Clearwater, Fl), bring me $550 cash, and cash only, and you may take it home- again, I won't hack it up and sell you just the prime cuts; you'll need to buy the whole hog. I accept Paypal exclusively for a non local sale, as this not only protects me, but also you, the purchaser through their purchase protection program.
This is an amazing cab that deserves someone who will turn it up. It is great for Jazz, Fusion, R&B, Neo-Soul, Classical, Punk, Ska, Reggae, Reggaeton, Latin, Latin fusion, Polka, Klezmer, or any type of music that needs the entire tonal spectrum well-represented. It is also possibly the best cab for metal, but I'm not sure anyone concerned with that will be able to read this far.
*Edit, edit, edit, edit!!! Oh, I'm sorry metalheads; I forgot how sensitive you fellers are- this loving jape at metalheads was a joke, coming from a guy whose first band played Deep Purple and Black Sabbath quite poorly and more importantly, very loud. Of course you can read, even to the end of a corny advertisement like this one. Gosh, I hope nobody's feelings were hurt...if they were, just buy this cab, attach a 1,000 watt amp to it, plug something into it, and turn it up!

Secondly, I can vouch for this TB'er. He is a straight shooter, and great to deal with.
Thirdly, if you didn't "get" his humor about metalheads, then you are taking life waaaaaaaay too seriously! Chill!!! Or as Cheri Oteri as "Nadeen" would say......simma down nah!!
Free bump for a great TB'er and a fantastic price on a really fantastic cab built by Don at LDS. That cab will level buildings, and will have much more output and equal output throughout the entire frequency range (and way better low end frequency response)......MUCH better than mass produced cabs.

The cab will be wrapped in padding- mattress topper material actually, protecting all surfaces; the mattress topper then sealed with wraps of saran wrap, and then the cab going into a box which will be stuffed with additional shock absorbing material.
I will use the services of a local retail shipping store, "Going Postal", who do the actual packaging of the cab. They then assume the responsiblity for any damages. This method precludes the shipping company (FedEX in this case) from pulling the old "Oh it wasn't packaged properly which is why it didn't withstand our forklift skewering the cabinet" nonsense.
It will of course be insured; the purchaser will be advised to not sign for the package until inspected, regardless of any time pressure the delivery person may try to apply.
I have never had a problem shipping an item using this methodology. |
