I'm thinking about selling my LDS cab since I have been playing direct to the pa for the last several years and only have used the LDS on a few gigs where I filled in with bands using weak pa's.

It uses 4 avatar 10" custom eminence woofers, one 18sound 6.5" mid and a selenium horn. The cab is 4ohms. Light weight baltic birch construction. Tilts back on to 3" wheels. Has side handles and a recessed handle on the top/back to move like a cart. Cross-over points are 800hz and 5khz. There are adjustable L-pads for the tweet and mid on the side of the cab. Carpet covered. It's 20"wide, about 16"deep and about 39"tall. Very good for getting through doorways. The cab weighs roughly 65lbs. It was designed with real world gigging in mind. I'll only sell local or meet someone within a two hour radius. I'd like $400 for it. I can post pics if there is any interest.

This cab origionally had a sealed back 8" mid. I later changed it to the 18 sound 6.5" and as a result had to makes a baffle out of a fiberglass. That is the red circle that you see around the mid. There also was a "hat" added that creates a seperate chamber for the 6.5". It is actually made a neoprine type of material. Don at LDS sent it to me. I also changed the origional x-over out for two eminence ones. One is a 800hz 2-way the woofers and mid, and the other is a 5khz high-pass for the tweeter. The mid has a sharp natural roll-off above 5k so, there is no cancellation between it and the tweet. It also alows you to get the most out of the mid for those who do not like tweets.

nice design. 65 lbs seems light for a cab set up like this. Curious to know the story on the mid switch.

mid

No real big story. I mostly use the cab without the tweet and the 6.5 goes up to a solid 5khz where the 8 only went up to about 3khz and had a jagged response. I upgraded. This happened at the same time everyone started building the 3-way fearful cabs and I learned alot more after this cab was built.

shipping

It looks like I will not be shipping this cab anywhere. It's about $160 shipped to the middle of the country if I box it myself. I'd meet someone a max of 2 hours from 13662. I don't have the need or want to sell the cab that badly. It really is a great piece. I just want to get gear out of my basement.......to make room for more gear of course!

cab

Still available to someone within a 2 hour radius. There must be someone in this frozen tundra that is tired of playing a crate 1x15. Thats not a slam, but my cab has nothing in common with that type of cab.

playing

I'll be playing out with this cab this saturday in Winthrop NY at the Pitstop bar. It will be the first time in almost 2 years that I've used an actual amp at a gig!
