This is a LoPhat cabinet that I got from a fellow TB’er about a year ago. This was an early version and originally this was a 2-way design with a single 12” Faital Pro driver and tweeter, crossed over at 3.5kHz with an L-Pad on the tweeter. I emailed Paul at LoPhat and he suggested some details on how to best convert this to a 3-way design.
I removed the 2-way crossover and added a 6.5” Faital Pro (6FE200) and built the right volume internal enclosure behind it. I then installed an 800hZ/3.5kHz 3-way crossover and L-Pads on both the tweeter and the 6.5”. The crossover was built on a modified Eminence PXB3 board. Rated at 500-watts at 8ohms.
It was really a great box before, but now it’s just awesome. It’s in good shape with only one scrape in the finish (not to the wood), which I couldn't get to photograph. It could be touched up but I don't currently have the right type of finish to do it. The corners show sights of usage of course, but the coating on these cabs is unreal tough and looks fantastic. I added heavy duty feet to one side of the cabinet so you can use it on it's side to make it a bit taller. I added the sticker on the jack plate which include model number and original SN. Recessed handles let you put your head on the side with no wobble issues. Weight is about 48lbs on the bathroom scale.
Asking $375 local. That's about what the value of the speakers is alone.
I would rather not ship since it would probably be well over $150 to get it to the east coast, but if you’re dying for it, and willing to cover shipping feel free to PM me with offers.
I'm in Torrance in the evenings and north Long Beach during the days.
