Markbass F1 for Sale

Sign in to disble this ad
I found a good deal on a little Markbass combo that suits my needs perfectly, otherwise i'd be keeping this mug. Sounds amazing, good shape but a few scratches on the top/bottom. These still sell for $799 at GC. Description from them below.
$485 shipped.

The F1 is Markbass' lightest and smallest bass amp head to date. At 500W the F1 bass amp boasts an unbelievable power-to-weight ratio of more than 100W per pound. Its digital power amp gives the Markbass F1 bass amp head super-fast response and a crisp, clear, full sound that will convey every detail of your playing, instantly.

The F1 amp head's 1/4" input jack works with both active and passive basses and allows you to EQ your sound with Low, Mid Low, High Low, and High control knobs, as well as Markbass' exclusive VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) and VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) filters, with separate Gain and Master volume controls.

The rear panel has a balanced XLR out, Neutrik Speakon Combo jacks which work with either Speakon or 1/4" speaker cables, a tuner out, as well as Effect Send and Return 1/4" jacks to ensure you don't lose your main signal if a piece of your effects chain dies. There is also a ground lift switch to help eliminate hum. Despite being lightweight, the Markbass F1 bass amp head is made with a rigid 2mm thick aluminum chassis to ensure your investment can handle the rigors of the road.

How would this compare to the SD800 are they similar in tone shaping?

Yes. The tone shaping is similar. In the post/thread below, folks including Ken Jung (resident expert in such matters) consider the 2 very sonically identical. As i've scoured the board for input, Ken is a huge fan of the F1.

Hello and bump. Just FYI, that single post is quite an old one that I posted up right after getting my F1 quite a while ago. I ended up liking it much more than the SD800... it kind of sits between the LMII and the SD800... tighter and brighter than the LMII, but warmer and punchier than the SD800.

Bump for a REALLY nice sounding head that seems to match up with any cab you want to use it with.

I will be receiving my first MarkBass head this coming Monday an SD1200. I really liked the Tube 800 I played thru at GC and may get that as a backup to the SD1200. I may even get the MoMark 800 watt system and get the tube pre w the 7 band eq and the really nice post module what a system Mark puts out wow. I never gave em a shot when I first saw them at GC now I am hooked. Bump for a really nice amp here folks. A very cool price to boot!!!

Congrats on the sale. The new owner will be happy! I 'upgraded' to the F500 a while ago (same exact tone, a few more bells and whistles), but still can't seem to let my F1 go! Great head!

Thanks to dtaylor for being a great guy to deal with.

And thanks to KJung for PM-ing me expert advice on the different tone qualities of various Markbass heads to use with my Aggie GS112 cabs.

Is TB a great place to hang, or wot?
