Mesa 400+ Bass Head with Road Ready Case

Just picked this up, but don't need all the weight. Awesome amp!! Just overkill for my needs right now. I'm sure ill kick myself for selling, but it must be done. Recently serviced by previous owner. Tubes checked out just fine.

Any questions, feel free to ask!

Was $1250 + $50 shipping, but now only $1150 shipped and insured to lower 48 only!

One of these without the road case just went on eBay for $1175 shipped.

This is the official Mesa Road Ready Case it sits in. Click image for larger version

Agreed!

Although the bass boost really tightens up that lower register and the graphic eq can dial it in even more if you really want that mesa click to your pick attack.

May have a sale on the head unit itself, but would anyone be interested in the rack unit? It is a custom built road ready rack for the mesa 400/400+ bass amp.

I believe it would work with other 4 space amps, but I cannot confirm that.

There are no rack rails on it, but if installed, it would be a 6 space rack. This thing is durable as can be.

Let's say $125 shipped to lower 48??

Also, since the sale on the 400+ isn't complete yet, ill say price drop on the Mesa with the rack included. $1150 shipped and insured to lower 48.

Thanks!

Here is the info from mesa's website!

Shock Mount Racks
Patented SUS-4® Shock Mount Racking System
Heavy Duty "Suspension" Shock Mounts (provides a "floating" steel inner rack frame)
High Flow Ventilation (no foam)
¼" 5-Ply Baltic Birch w/High Impact Black
Laminate Finish
Custom Aluminum Channeling (all edges)
Steel Corners
Gasket Sealed Front and Rear Covers
1 - 8"x19" Ballistic Nylon Accessories Storage
Pouch (mounted on rear cover)

I would assume this is what Mesa would call the 4-space, even though it is the size of a 6-space nor am rack. Just allows for more airflow and cooling.

It's a shock mount rack. The amp is basically mounted on springs so bumps of the road don't hurt it. As you mention, you also get the benefits of better airflow, and thus cooling.

I believe the 400+ is 4U, so it would be a 4 space rack since the amp takes up the entire mounting rail. You can measure the rail or the face plate of the amp (from top to bottom) and divide by 1.75 to get number of spaces. 1U is 1.75"

Yea. The 400+ is 4 rack spaces, but that rack case itself is the size of a traditional 6 space rack. It has extra room at top and bottom. Mema's site doesn't list a 6 space option, so I'm assuming they're going by the size of the head unit shock mounted in there. In this case, the 4-space 400+.

They go by the amount of spaces the rack rails are, not how large the physical rack is. The racks rails are 4U so it's a 4U shock mount rack.

There is no way to mount equipment in the extra room at the top and bottom.
