Mesa Boogie Bass 400 SOLD! Still have the 2X15 cab. F/S in the RI area only.

SOLD!
Here we have a Mesa Boogie Bass 400 (non plus)
I am the original owner, bought it brand new back in the early to mid 80's. Used it for less than two years and have had it stored away ever since believing that I would once use it again.

This thing deserves to be played.
For the age of this head, it's in as perfect condition as you will find one. No rack rash, and only minor scratches on the back.

Before I decided to sell this unit I had dropped it off at Noll's guitars for a check up and a cleaning. The Bias and circuity tested out fine, and it had just one bad power tube. Since then I contacted Bob over at Eurotubes and pick up a sextet of 6L6's and all four preamp tubes. Now she's good to go!
I have receipts from both places to prove the work was done and the tubes that were bought.

For those of you who don't know, the main difference between the Bass 400+ and 400 is the amount of power tubes and of course the wattage. The plus puts out about 300W and the non-plus about 200W. Don't let the amount of wattage stray you at all though, this thing can get loud. Back in the day I was using this I was competing with a Marshall 100w head with a 4X12.

The preamp section is the same as the Bass 400+
two channels, one for active basses with a pull contour switch, and the second channel to recreate the classic sound of the D-180. Both the bass and treble control have a pull contour switch. Also has a switchable graphic EQ for further tone shaping.

In the back are two 4 ohm and two 8 ohm speaker outputs, an adjustable slave level output, a 600ohm/balanced output, and effects loop with a blend attenuator. Also a three position ground switch and three speed fan control.

This also comes with a copy of the original Bass 400 owners manual. Thanks goes to danomite64 for that gem!!

Here she is:

It also comes the the original case & covers:
flawless condition!

For the Bass 400 with the case I am asking a firm $825.00
This is a "for sale" listing only. The only trades I would consider is something I would be able to re-sell quickly. (as in a trade plus cash deal)

I believe this to be a very fair price considering the condition and the work done to insure you are getting more than just a workable amp.

Also, as of right now, all the items listed are only available as a local sale. Anyone in the RI, CT, or southern MA area.

If I don't see much action on this sale I may reconsider shipping the amp, but for now it's for the local yokels only. Sorry guys.

Okay, we also have the original Mesa Boogie 2X15 Diesel cab.
with removable casters.

Full disclosure on this cab.
This cab got a lot more action than the amp. Pretty much all sides show sings of use in the tolex covering. Structurally, everything is in good condition. All handles are in tact and all corner pieces are in tact. It just not pretty anymore. The grilles however look fine, no major scratches.

Speakers are the original EV 15L's and appear to have no issues except for the following. (pictures below) One speaker suffered a puncture wound. I did a home repair consisting of super glue on just the inside of the rip and then covered the rip with a flexible silicone. It's actually held up remarkable well, including a little jam session with my brother this afternoon.

Truth be told though, even as I believe what I did was a successful job, I would not trust it if I were to gig with this cab.

The price for this cab in it's "as is" condition is $200.00 or best offer.

One more thing.
If anyone is interested in these two empty cabs let me know.
One is an original Acoustic B150 and the one on the bottom is a copy I made.

PM me with any offer.
They're both a little dusty but in great condition.

Paypal, USPS money order and of course cash accepted. Personal check would be fine. You could pick up the amp/speaker after the check clears.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Tell me about it. I could have sold the head like three times, the cab twice and the other two as well.

I knew I should have invented the transporter first, *then* try and sell the cabs.

Come on you Rhode Islanders, someone buy this before I have to drive 900 miles to get it. If anyone is worried about not having enough power fear not! That 2x15 is danged efficient. It will put out plenty of sound with the 200+ watts that Mesa puts out.
