"Labor Day Price Drop" Mesa Boogie Buster 1 x 15" all tube combo w/ cover

So ends my love affair with tube amps... this is my last one and it's time for it to go.

You don't see many of these in the 1 x 15" variety. There weren't many made and I believe Mesa stopped making them in 97 or 98. Yes, it's heavy, but apart from in and out of the car, it's quite easy to move thanks to the built in retractable hand-truck handle and tilt back casters. This thing is LOUD LOUD LOUD w/ tons of headroom. I'd venture to say it's probably the loudest 1 x 15" combo ever made!

Official specs are as follows:

200 Watts, All Tube, Class A/B Power / 6x6L6-427, 3x12AX7

Assignable 7 Band Graphic EQ

Parallel FX Loop w/Mix Level Control

600 Ohm XLR Balanced Out

Internal 8 ohm 15" speaker

Designed for 8 and 4 ohm operation, however, the manual states it can run at 2 as long as it is not for extended periods- in other words, you're good for the occasional set.

The last time I saw one of these on TB was when I bought it a year and a half ago:

FS: VINTAGE MESA BOOGIE BUSTER 15" COMBO-all tube

The last owner re-tubed it prior to selling to me w/ about 15 hours use. Since I have owned it, it's seen maybe another 15 hours of tube time for a total of about 30 hours since the last re-tube (I bought 'er in a fit of GAS and really didn't need it!). Just to be safe, I had Joe at Invisible Sound in Baltimore inspect it this week. He gave it a full, clean bill of health and commented how "dead quiet" the amp was for 200 tube watts!

The amp is in very good shape. There are a couple small tears in the tolex around the bottom corners and one of the plastic EQ slider tips is MIA (Mesa still has replacement sets available but it didn't really bother me). Also, one of the rear plastic stair rails broke in shipping to me. Mesa also has these available if someone wants it- I didn't bother as I would not slide a tube amp up and down stairs- too fragile!

Included is a cover which the original owner (I am the third) had custom made. Unfortunately, he forgot to account for the wheels. As you can see in the pics, it has quite a bit of wear around the wheel areas as a result but it still does it's job 100%
SOLD I cannot ship this but I can meet you anywhere off the I-95 corridor between DC and say NJ.

I am really looking to sell so no trades at this time

Wondering why there is such an uproar over a lack of tube combos on TB, specifically the new Fender Bassman TV tube combos not being all tube, yet when an incredibly nice, loud, and versatile tube combo from a respected manufacturer at a great price pops up, there is very little interest? Make me an offer on this. Needs to go ASAP!

I have this same amp. I bought it off ebay for a grand shipped. The seller didn't know his ass from his elbow when it came to packing. It was sent in a form fitting box, with no padding and it was stacked with peanuts inside the speaker. 3 tubes were broken and the EQ was knocked inside the amp. 400 dollars later the amp is running like a champ with SED's. Moral of the story don't ship the amp ( a lesson I assume you already know). Hey, maybe all the upheaval about lack of tube amps doesn't come from your neck of the woods..

Good luck and BUMP for a good amp!

I believe this sounds close to the Fender Studio Bass Amp, a great little combo from the late 70's/early 80's.
Man, I wish this had come up a couple months ago, I was driving down to Aberdeen every now & then to cover gun tests, I would have been in your back yard! I'll have to see if anyone from my work place is heading that way soon...

I used to own one of these lovely beasts! And I still hold a secret wish for Mesa to reconfigure and reissue this amp with a Neo 12 driver! Sit that on top of a matching Neo 12 extension cab? Hooo-WEEE!!!!!

You guys have me seriously considering popping this puppy in the back of my Mini Clubman (excellent gig vehicle, BTW and great on gas too!) and hitting the road!

Seriously I wish I could ship this but I think I am lucky that only a plastic stair rail broke when it came to me and it was packed VERY well.
