MESA/BOOGIE D-180 D180 TUBE BASS AMPLIFIER

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!!!!!!!! THANK YOU TO MY BUYER!

Mesa/Boogie D-180 tube bass amplifier, s/n D290, produced around 1985. I am the only owner/operator of this amp. The D-180 is the initial bass amp offering from Boogie, having six 6L6 power tubes and four preamp tubes. This amp will generate about 200 real, usable watts of power. It has bass, mid, and treble controls with switchable emphasis. It does not have the optional graphic EQ. There are front and rear effects loops with a mix control. Also on the back panel are 1/4" and XLR lines out with level control and ground lift, two-speed cooling fan, ground filter switch, and multiple 4 and 8 ohm 1/4" speaker outs. This amp delivers a solid, fundamental bass signal through any speaker configuration. I have employed everything from an SVT cab to an Accugroove Tri 110L with splendid results. Also featured is an additional gain stage which can provide an awesome, overdriven crunch in the classic Boogie fashion. This will serve admirably for some low-tuned, grind-grunge, metal guitard plugged into a coupla 4X12 cabs.

This amp has seen years of reliable use, has been through a coupla sets of power tubes, and has an appropriate collection of knicks, scuffs and scratches, but is in great operating condition for it's age/mileage. I will include a Pro-Tec soft rack bag, that needs to have the rails more securely mounted. $800 or best, respectfully submitted, reasonable offer. Shipping will be expensive as this amp is heavy and will be packed "bomb-proof". I will accept paypal or USPS money order. Inquiries employing full sentences in understandable English will get the best response from me. I can provide additional pics to seriously interested respondants. Thank you.

Thanks for all the responses. I should have stated initially that I am as bad a bass junkie as anyone here, and am seeking $$$ to cover a purchase made with money I do not have yet. Thus I am unable to entertain any trade offers. Cash sale only, please (paypal or USPS money order).

Bump for a sick-a$$ all-tube amp - if I didn't already own 2 of them, I'd snag this one as well.

I've seen them go for almost a grand on ebay...

Good luck with the sale, musico.

Remember also, bedroom jammers (and recorders), that this amp has a special-function MASTER volume knob that allows you to get grinding, fuzzed-out tone at low levels...no need to crank everything to 11 to make the tubes scream.

I may be SVTBASS but a few years ago I actually became D180BASS. More tonal variations; less than half the weight; same number (6) of monster tubes; less than half the weight...

bump cause this one'll make someone very happy
