A look at the cover.

Nice, in typical Mesa fashion.

Mesa

It's always the same...... I live in the North East and whenever I find something that I just "can't live without" it's ALWAYS in LA, SF, Seattle, Hawaii.... you get the drift. Never here! This is a great deal on a great cab, unfortunately I'm up to my ears (literally) in cabs. So, a solid Balimore bump (no T in local speak) for a great, solid cab.

May I ask if you had the re-cone done locally etc. or did you buy a kit? I may need to do the same shortly.

thanks in advance,

Done by a local sound tech. Cost nearly as much as a new MB driver. Since EV no longer makes this one, a re-cone was my only real option. I've been advised consistently not to try it myself with no prior experience or training, so that's that. It was important to me to maintain the original integrity of the cab.

Good form. I'll be doing the same when the time comes. Don't want to give up on these EV's!!

Weekend bump.

IMHO, Mesa makes the best-sounding 15s of them all. Whoever buys this one will be VERY satisfied.

I thought all mesa PH 115 were the mesa driver not the EV ones.
When did they make the switch? What year is this cab?

And bump for a great 115!

It's mostly about the labeling.

It is my understanding that the PH 15" drivers did not change significantly and were still made by EV. Mesa stopped promoting them as EV and they had no brand markings on them. It also allowed Mesa to charge a premium for replacement units since technically it was Mesa's proprietary speaker. This one has the EV badging on the back, so there is no doubt about what it is.

As far as the age of the cabinet, my guess is it is an early one, but I am not sure.

If anyone can shed more light on the EV/Mesa speaker thing, feel free.
