Mesa Carbine for sale (for real this time!)

Sign in to disble this ad
So- I played my first show in a long time with this amp a little while back. Sounded amazing, but the rest of the band wanted to be heard too! The sounds I like the best exist in a very touchy area at the beginning of the volume taper, where the amp goes from whisper to yell really quick... As I had feared, it is just too much amp for my needs right now (I went from playing balls to the wall loud heavy metal to playing semi-acoustic/quiet music pretty soon after finally buying this amp new!), my Mesa Walkabout has proven to be more than enough itself!

It is in near perfect condition (only one noticeable little ding on the top edge of the front plate, maybe a little rack rash- haven't taken it out of the rack yet to see), with over 4 years left on the fully transferable warranty. The original model I bought from the store was one of the earliest ones with shut-down issues, but I sent it back to Mesa (on their dime) and they sent me this one fresh off the assembly line- works perfectly!

(D-180 is long gone!)

Comes in original box with all the paperwork (manual, warranty card, reciepts, etc). Looking for $800 shipped or best offer- ONLY trades I might be interested in would be a Zoom H4 recorder, a Gallien Krueger 800RB (never actually owned one!), Lakland Skyline Jazz basses, or Mesa 4 ohm speaker cabs (especially Walkabout cabs, but also other 212s and 115s) +/- cash to balance the deal.

Thanks, and feel free to ask any questions!

Any interest in a Road Ready Boogie 115 cab as a trade? Its an 8 ohm cab with the EV driver.

Just added a GK 800RB to my possible list of trades- always wanted to audition one for awhile...

Thanks,

Man I wish that I had a GK RB800 to trade on this. It would be cool to trade locally.

What with the job market still in the dumper around here $$$"s are pretty tight. I've been fortunate to have something to trade or sell to feed the GAS issues. But I'm getting to the point of not having anything to trade or sell.

I feel you there- the job market out here was really hit hard! I've been lucky with my job, but I've definitely had to make a much more conscious effort to be frugal with spending. Keep your head up though- luckily none of us NEED any of this crap to survive!

Thanks,
Karl

So- yet again I found a reason to keep this amp... Sent the pre from this guy into the power amp of my Walkabout. Sounds freakin' good- expected to get a lower powered version of the Carbine, but got that plus what seemed to be a tubier response (not overdrive, but just a more pillowy Walkabout-eque low-end). I guess that the driver tube of the Walkabout must come after the effects return? That would explain why people haven't had good luck with using the Walkabout as a preamp. Whatever it is, I'm gonna take this down 'til after the holiday season at least to give myself some experimentation time...

Thanks for all the nice trade offers!
Karl
