Mesa M6 Carbine in "head-case"
This is a super-tasty, minty-fresh Mesa Boogie M6 Carbine in the headcase version.
The Mesa rack looks cool, does a GREAT job of protecting the amp, and is made specifically to keep the amp cool and properly ventilated.
Also includes a factory nylon cover ($40 value).
The only sign that this isn't a new amp is the wear on the corners (pictured).
The Tolex covering is in perfect shape, and if the wear on the corners bothers you, Mesa sells the corners for $7 each via their website.
The M6 is a loud, clean, fast sounding amp that gets MUCH louder than it's 600-watt rating would lead you to believe.
I'd been using 2,000+ watt rack systems when I got this, and the M6 was every bit as loud, and much more "coherent" sounding.
I really, really love this amp and hate to let it go, but I need money to pay for a Dingwall bass I just bought, and I'm not playing in a band.
An amp this powerful is just not practical to keep caged up in the basement.
If I link up with a loud band, I will seek out another one of these amps!
Looking for $875 shipped(price reduced); which I think is reasonable since these go for $900 used without the rack and nylon cover, and the rack adds almost $200 to the list price.
Here are the front of the amp and the top of the case.

Here's the worst of the wear on the corners, and a close-up of the Neutrik combo speaker outputs
This amp will make your bass BUMP
Had a question about if this amp has received the fan/cooling upgrades.
Since the amp has never been out of my basement, I wasn't worried about stressing the amp, so I had never checked before.
I'm not the original owner, and the prior owner thought that it had had those upgrades.
But I wanted to be sure, so I pulled the amp out of the case (while admiring how well the case supports and protects the amp!) and it is definitely the single-fan earlier version of the head.
So I'm going to contact Mesa and set up getting the amp upgraded/updated.
If possible, I can also see if they would return ship to a different address.
But either way, I'll get the amp up to the latest specs before it gets to it's new home, and I will absorb any additional shipping costs that this incurs.
I think they are all ship with single fan now. They seem to have the heat thing fixed.. I have an M9 and it has all the upgrades .. and mine has one fan. and so far its rock steady
Thanks for the votes of confidence, guys!
But this is the 2nd M6 that I've owned, and the previous one had the vented cover and dual cooling fans.
I hadn't taken the amp out of the headcase until this weekend, so I wasn't sure about the fan upgrade.
I'll be calling Mesa tomorrow to get the upgrade process started -- if someone REALLY wants it before I get that done, let me know, but otherwise I'll probably be shipping it to Petaluma, CA in a couple days...
I'll be sending the amp to Mesa later this week to get it updated to the latest specs -- free of charge, of course, because Mesa is just bada&$ and stands behind their products like that...
Amp is at Mesa now, getting updated.
ETA 3 weeks.
If you're interested and patient, go ahead and make me an offer!
Also, had a question if I would sell the head case separately.
The answer is yes -- but only if I first had someone who wanted to buy the amp without it.
Mesa called this morning.
The amp is done and will ship out on Thursday (they only ship on Tuesdays & Thursdays)
What I got from them is that they adjusted the bias and thermal protect relays, and swapped out 4 components.
Hopefully the service report in the box will give more detail than that, but it's not like the amp NEEDED repairs; it had never sputtered, smoked, failed, cut out, etc.
Amp is in the UPS system, will get back to me on Weds 9/25.
Factory-fresh and ready to rock!
"Make me an offer before I change my mind about selling it" bump.
Will consider trades for bass heads but no other gear.
This thing is sold - amp, case, and cover are all mine!!!!
I need to change my signature soon!
This is my favorite amp ever made. You'll love it!
