Mesa Mpulse 600 Venture head

Sign in to disble this ad
$530 shipped Sorry no trades

This Mpulse 600 is from a Venture combo, so it's a little different looking, what with its slanted front and various little holes not filled in with screws in the metal casing. You can be sure of one thing, though, it is an Mpulse 600. Yes, it's a little rough, but fully functional. No footswitch is included. It shows it age a little, but everything works and it sounds great and can get real tubey, more tubey. The Mpulse is I think 34 pounds.

Full disclosure - at moderate to high volumes with the bass and mids pushed, there is something rattling in the case - I can't pin it down. I gigged 4 hours with it a couple weekends ago and at gigging volumes, and you can't hear it, only at bedroom volume. It's a little annoying when practicing but when I put it on the pink eggcrate foam as shown, it stops the rattle significantly and even sometimes so there is no rattle at all. I also tried a soft case under it and same thing, stops it 90%.

More info here, but there's no mute on the footswitch as in the newer models http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_In...Pulse-600.html

It's priced accordingly for a cheap way to get into the Mpulse experience.

Great amp for getting into the Mesa sound at low cost.

UPDATE 9/17: I think I've solved the rattling noise. Seems the metal cover was causing it. I put some packing ghost turds betweem the body and metal top, then screwed the lid back on and no rattling.

I got a head out of a venture and gig with it on a regular basis. It's one hell of a deal, and I love that head... I had a venture, sold it and thought I was getting a mpulse 600 at a killer price, and it was a venture head. Great price so no loss. If anyone is looking for an awesome mesa head. Go for it!

Thanks for the testimonial. You don't lose anything from the regular Mpulse600 except a little cosmetics. But the slanted front is kinda cool. Sounds great! Try and find an muplse 600 at a better price.

A great deal Gone. Keeping it. Sounds too damn good with my new-used Acme Low B2 and good headroom.
