I recently picked up a more powerful head for my needs so it's time to sell my trusty and amazing-sounding Walkabout.
We all know how great these sound and they do so in a small and super-portable package. The Walkabout tube hybrid head has a recommended 300W 4 Ohm load but can do down to 2ohms.
I just got it back today (3/27/08) from MesaBoogie with all upgrades including effects bypass, passive / active switch, etc. It sounded great before it went in but I wanted to ensure that it was up to spec and this head is totally ready for its new owner.
I replaced the factory fan with one that is a lot quieter (for recording purposes) but still cools sufficiently. I did a 2-hour outdoor show (on concrete) during a 100 degree heatwave in NYC a few years back and it stayed cool the whole time and I didn't have to worry about the head once. I will include the original fan if you want to put it back in (really no need, though).
The head comes with the Mesa padded bag which is probably a bit too small for these heads as the inside has got some rips from the corners of the head, etc.
If you want a great sounding, very light, and loud head... you really cant go wrong with a MesaBoogie Walkabout.
It's in excellent condition technically and in great condition cosmetically. It sports some scratches on the top, bottom and sides from gigging but nothing has ever been dented, etc.
