Mint Carvin B1500 with receipt F/T

Decided to keep this one. Sorry got cold feet.................

I bought this from the Carvin store about 8 months ago. A great amp loud and lots of tone and will do 2 OHMS all day long. Amp has been used very little and is like new except for a few scratches on the bottom. Non Smoker always racked and temp controlled. Looking to trade for a lighter amp to use as a back up:

Mark Bass
Mesa Boogie M6
EBS 350
Tec Amp Puma
Ashdown
Genz Benz
SWR
ETC

I am willing to add cash if needed.

Thanks

This is my first ever reply to anything on this site so fotgive me if this goes somewhere it's not supposed to go. Anyway...I've got this exact head and I've got a question for you about it. I get a ton of noise when I turn up the "drive" knob even to 3 or 4. It's insane when it's on 8-10. I'm comparing this against my CRATE BT-350 head which is virtually dead quiet unless I have the drive and master dimed. What's your experience with the B1500 and its noise floor? I'm pretty disappointed since I looked for this head an awful long time before I could find an affordable specimen. BTW, this head was only used as a backup in a worship hall so it's pretty much like new in all respects. Let me know.

Hey Cosmo,

I have had zero noise issues with my head. I usually keep the drive up around 11:00 The Drive and Master on the Carvin is a little different than most amps. I have used 4 basses and 4-5 speaker combinations and never had an issue. In the threads I have read nothing but praise about the B1500. I was skeptical as I always snubbed Carvin but this is truly a great amp. Maybe you have a faulty unit or are getting single coil humm.

Thanks

Well, you're probably right about the noise. I've read nothing but praise about this head although noise wasn't discussed to any degree on most forums I ran across. The quality of the sound (minus the noise issue) is incredible and I'll NEVER lack for watts again. It definately isn't single coil hum though because I used the same bass for testing with both amps. I seem to have a knack for being cursed with seemingly "brand new" equipment. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Hey Cosmo,

Your amp shouldn't be doing that, I have a B1500 and it's absolutely dead quiet, even with the drive almost dimed.
