Older SWR Baby Blue Head

I purchased the 2-8" Bag End combo around 1997 or so.

Soon after, I needed something bigger - but I was gigging a lot and also wanted a second head as a backup. I bought an SM900. I pulled the Baby Blue head out of the combo, built a rack for it and kept it as a spare (which was handy because my SM900 did break down once). I sold the speakers so they are gone.

I only really play DB now, and I use a mic (just bought an EA doubler). I do not think I will ever need this amp again, so it's up for sale.

The rack is good plywood (3/8" I think). All edges were rounded off. I kept the grill vent from the top and installed that. I put good black "carpet" and plastic corners on it. There is a handle on the side. You can undo the screws on top and slide it out, though it is kind of snug because the carpet was thicker than I counted on when I built it. I'm a decent carpenter - it's a good rack.

The tube is the original one from when I bought it new. Two knobs are missing the end cap. It's picked up a little dust on the carpet, but not bad. A couple of pots are scratchy, but it does work well.

I would like to get $325 for it, and I will pay shipping in the lower 48 states. I will not ship out of the U.S. I don't have to sell it, so I'm not going to take lowballs. If I can't sell this, I have a Markbass LMII I'll sell and continue to keep this as my spare.

I promise the amp will work as described when you receive it or I will refund you.

Bump for today -

I will look for the manual. I know I have it - just need to locate it.

Here is the link to a PDF from SWR. Mine had the black grill with the diamond pattern, but the head does say Baby Blue II. I'm confused now, because the cabinet (which I no longer have) did have the Bag End speakers and the older grill like the "Baby Blue" on this page:
http://www.swrsound.com/support/vintage.php
...but the head says "Baby Blue II" in small letters. I was always under the impression that it was the original Baby Blue because I had the original cabinet. Glad I checked. My head says it is 160 watts, so it must be the II. Don't know why that was in the old bag-end cabinet when I bought it. Now I wish I had not pulled the head out.

Anyway, it is what it is now. Still sounds great. If this affects the value a lot, make an offer for what it's worth. I'll think it over. Like I said, I don't need to sell it.

No longer for sale as of 2/18/10.

Amazing sounding head. I had a tech go over it and clean the pots and stuff. He said it was in great shape. I decided to keep it and sell my Markbass.
