One ugly combo amp, that's for sure.
I'm not sure of the year, but it has the white on black knob function labels, rather than the blue background.
The good: Everything seems to be working, though a light labeled "COMP." didn't come on at any time while I was testing this beast. Compressor? One of you out there will know a lot more about this amp than I.
I replaced the plug, as the previous owner did likewise with electrical tape. So, it's safe in that regard.
Previous owner replaced speaker and just twisted the wires on. I attached clips. Better, but I thought I wouldn't solder them, as I was planning on getting a BW for it. That's not going to happen.
The bad: Looks like it was dragged behind a truck. The speaker is an 8 ohm Eminence with a slight tear in the cone that was repaired with glue. Seems to be working fine. BTW this should have a 4 ohm Black Widow in it.
No handle. No castors. And it's heavy.
Took a hit that broke through the back panel. Not a hole, just cracking.
TMI? or not enough? Ugly, ugly, ugly, but a classic work horse that someone's going to love.
This amp has a lot of tonal options. Pretty cool.
I'd like to sell it locally in the San Francisco Bay Area. No way do I want to hassle shipping this thing.
Anyone interested? This is a lot of amp for a little money. Check it out in San Mateo, CA. |
