Peavey VB-2 All Tube Head

Sign in to disble this ad

Made in the USA, 225 watts from six EL34 tubes, two channels, three band EQ with switchable bass and mid center frequencies, tube DI, mute, effects loop, switchable 2-4-8 ohm impedance, weighs less than 60 lbs!

The head is in very good condition, I have gigged it but I have taken good care of it. Sounds great with just about any cab, I've used it with a Bergantino NV610

a Peavey Tour 410

and a customized Peavey 215

UPDATE: $575 shipped. Will consider Bag End cabs in trade. Cash, PayPal or money order accepted. PM me with any questions.

I would love to come try this out, since you're in the area, but I'm not looking to buy at this time.

...

unless I really really like it...

Hmmmmmm... Interested. I play a Cirrus through an Ampeg SVT - Sounds heavenly - BUT, I do LOVE peavey amps. All I hear on youtube is the overdriven sound and it sounds yucky ! How's the warmth ? How nice is the clean sound ?

I run the master up all the way and vary the volume with the channel gains and the bass' master volume. I've been playing a Millennium with the VB-2. I have found that using the overdrive channel and just barely having the gain up produces a big, warm, monstrous tube sound. Likewise, using the clean channel the same way provides a cleaner sound at higher gain. The clean channel breaks up nicely as well, but doesn't have the power that the overdrive channel can give you.

Thanks, Kevin. It's pretty hard to turn down an amp that sweet practically delivered to my door!

Some tempting offers on trades, but nothing to overwhelm me yet, although one was close! After receiving a bunch of trade offers, I think the only ones I will consider will involve lightweight cabs.
