Phil Jones 4B Bass Speaker Cabinet - $385 Shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
Used this with a Bergantino 12 and a Markbass LMII. Great small lightweight cabinet. Selling to reduce the small cabinet count. The cabinet is in near mint condition.

The 4B produces rich, deep, and powerful bass, right down to the open B string and even below. Transparent high frequencies, smooth mid range and overall dynamics provide punch and clarity. This is accomplished by using four of Phil's 5 1/2" Piranha drivers.
Impedance - 8 ohm
Frequency Response - 35Hz - 15KHz
Power - 400W
Size13.8 x 17.9 x 17.5 inch (W x D x H)
Speakers - 4 x PJB PIRANHA TYPE B
Net Weight - 43 lbs / 19.5 kg

$385 shipped in the CONUS.

Hi- I've owned a Berg 12 and am familiar with that sound, but I haven't a clue about these. What roles did these 2 cabinets play when used together?

I am definitely interested in hearing more on this also. I have paired my HT112 with a Minimark and it worked quite well

The PJB cab is a little less efficient than the Berg (I was using an EX112 - no horn). That wasn't ever a problem. Response wise the PJB went just as low as the Berg, and had better/smoother highs. Not those sparkly, crispy type of highs you get with a horn, but that's not what I was after anyway.

A great small stack. Portable and surprisingly loud. It gets lots of comments from the band and the crowd.

so if you were going to a smaller gig that only required one of those cabs which would you pick, Berg or PJ?

For volume I'd pick the Berg. For tone, the PJ.

It would work, for sure. The PJB is 8 ohms, which is what that power section is rated for. That said, the cab is a full range cab and has great lows. Kind of a shame to not use all that bottom end extension...

Just sayin.

cool. the 800rb can run full range to both sections-- that's definitely how I'd run it with something like your pjb.

Hmmm - Not a lot of interest. Maybe I should keep the PJB cab and sell the EA CXL-112 instead?

I would love to get this cabinet!! I would very quickly give you $350 for it, but I have an Ampeg B2r head, a B410 cabinet and a B115 cabinet I would have to get rid of first... Sad thing here is, I purchased it all brand new less then two years ago, it's never been gigged even!! Only used here a couple of times in our small home studio... It's a real monster amp! but needs to be with someone where it would be used, not collecting dust.. because of my medical and physical problems, I now use a very small portable bass amp... and just d.i. it... I really need to get something lighter such as your cabinet with another small bass head I have... had been thinking about trying to sell the ampeg and getting any one of several companies 210 cabinets.. but your's would be so perfect.. hey, will trade your cabinet for either the 410 or the 115?? both are brand new and both list for way over what that one did.... here's a pic of the whole rig...

Happy New Year,

Blueyes
