QSC PLX-2402 and Ashdown RPM-1 “Entwistle” – Canada

Sign in to disble this ad
QSC PLX-2402 – C$600 - 2400W into 4 ohms (bridged). Full specs can be found here:
http://www.qscaudio.com/products/amps/plx/plx.htm

Some rack rash, but works perfectly and has not been abused. Will ship in original packaging with original owner’s manual.

Ashdown RPM-1 “Entwistle” - C$ 400 - Nice preamp with lots of features. Apparently, only 100 were made; 50 were sold in the US and 50 in the UK. More information can be found here:
http://www.barryrudolph.com/ingear/b...e/ashdown.html

This one has some rack rash as shown in the pictures. For full disclosure, this one has a buzzing sound that is audible when the unit powered. As far as I can tell, the buzz is due to the transformer vibrating. This does not affect the operation of the preamp and the buzz is not part of the signal chain (i.e. is not amplified and comes through the speakers). At “band volume” you won’t notice it. ** Local sale only - west GTA **

Pics for both items can be found here:

You can run trades by me, but more interested in getting rid of stuff than bringing it in.

Have you inquired about the "repair" of this unit? I would imagine it has to go back to the UK? I'd be interested but I am leery about the hum even thought it is not part of the signal chain.

I haven't. When I mentioned it to the TB'er I bought it from, he said he took it to a repairman who said "what hum? - don't worry about it."

If you are still interested, PM me and we'll see if we can figure something out (telephone demo? refund if not satisfied?).

Replied.

Restricting the RPM-1 to local sale until I can get the unit repaired. I realized my definition of a buzz that "won't bother anybody" can only be validated if you can hear it for yourself.

Thanks, but I'm covered for basses and trying to move away from pre/power rigs (althought the Read is pretty cool....). Not much I would want in trades - I keep my G.A.S. list up to date.
