The sound of it has also greatly improved since it was first introduced- software updated have eliminated almost all of the noise that was originally present. One of its big features is also one of its big drawbacks- the fact that it's operated and run by one guy. Bob recently hired a second person to help him out. Right now he is building a bunch of new units apparently, so he hasn't had the time to update the software with new features much lately (based off of the wishlist us users put up on the Looperlative forum), but its feature set is still much better for what I do than any other looper out there. |

but then again, w/ 900 watts @ 4 ohms on each side, you're still pulling 1800 watts w/ two or more cabs! |

I got the 1104 specifically because the fact that it doesn't bridge allows it to be a lot more shallow than the other models and lets it fit into an SKB shallow rack, and has more than enough power for me. I'm not going to need a stereo setup anymore, so I'm just switching to a tiny head. |

It does run on two separate channels though, so you can still power two 4 ohm cabs. Just can't power four 4-ohm cabs |

It's basically like having two separate power amps, with each one doing either 325w at 8ohms or 550w at 4ohms. |

| | Sam was a basket case!!!! | | Join Date: Aug 2002 Location: Corrupticut | | | This is a steal on a really nice amp. Just for reference, the PLX2 xx04 series doesn't do bridged or 2 ohm loads, but is is smaller and 8 pounds lighter.
Driving both channels from a single source: The PLX2 xx04 doesn't have a "parallel mono" mode that you set with the DIP switches, but you can jumper between the unused channel A input and one of the channel B inputs to drive both channels with a single input on Channel A. You don't need any splitter or anything. The easiest way is to bring your input in on the Channel A XLR, then run a 1/4" patch between the A and B 1/4" input jacks.
