Rare Eden Valve-Tech 400 Watt Head

NO TRADES

Rare Eden Valve-Tech Head (400 watts).

I reposted this because some thought that this was just a pre-amp when in fact it's a whole head.

This is my second VT.40 from over the years. This is the Eden with the two-tube James Demeter Pre-amp (400 watt Eden power amp built in). Most Demeter pre-amps (w/o a power amp) sell for $500 - $600ish used I believe. This is a bass head (pre-amp AND power amp in one). The best sounding Eden I've ever heard (more pleasing tham the WT series IMHO. This head got a full service from Eden in the last couple of years. You can see it's in amazing condition. The compressor is one of, if not the best on-board compressor I've heard to date.

You can get some nice natural tube overdrive and thicken things up nicely (extra girth) by cranking the tube pre and the comoressor. You can also get some very nice clean tone out of her by tuning down the tube pre and turning up the master.

The heart of this unit is a tube-based pre-amp circuit designed by James Demeter: in addition to the usual bass, mid, treble and "presence" dials, there are four switches that permit further tailoring by selecting between 60 or 120 Hz., 240 or 480 Hz., two points on a "presence" continuum, and 3kHz or 6kHz. These selection points are interdependent. Compared with many eq sections this system at first seems not to provide a wide range of control, but after living with it for a while you come to realize that it gives you some really practical alternatives that dial in pretty easily.

There is also a very good compression unit, featuring fully adjustable Threshold and Ratio.

Gain is regulated by Pre- and Master-volume switches.

The solid-state Power amp is good for 220 Watts at 8 ohms or 400 watts at 4 ohms, but 4-ohm is the minimum rating.

The rack ears are integral with the cabinet, flaring from the side panels. The back features two 1/4" speaker outputs, an ajustable XLR out, an effects loop and a ground lift.

Comes with owners manual. I'm also tossing in a SKB ATA Rack!!!! This rack is $149 new!!! http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ELAID=26046316

I've seen them sell for $500 - $600 in good condition. Given this one is in exceptional condition, has recently had a full factory service by Eden and comes with a SKB rack also in great shape, BIG PRICE DROP TO $499!!! These are quite rare and don't come up for sale often (especially in this condition). I think she will sell very fast here at this price and if not, off to Evil Bay she goes for more $. Hit me up SOON!

Wow! I had one of these back in 1992. I didn['t appreciate how sweet it was at the time. I have never seen one since I traded mine for....wait for it.... a Peavey megabass head!!! God I was an idiot! Anyway, free bump for a fabulous and rare Eden head.

Im not for a second, suggesting that the Megabass is beter than this amp, I had an Eden rig too and regret selling it everyday, but I still have my Megabass head that I bough in like 1990 and I secretly love it.

Its the most wrong head ever, but so right!

This may be back on the market due to lack of response from buyer (another TBer who is also holding an item for this same buyer is having the same issue).
