It pains me so to do this, but these lean times demand sacrifices...
I'd like to sell my Mesa / Boogie D-180 200-watt all-tube bass amp ("non-graphic eq" version), and I want to guage interest among my bass brethren and sisteren before I even consider putting it up for sale on that "other" site.
Here's a link to the owner's manual - it's got alot of information about what this amp is and what it can do:
http://www.mesaboogie.com/manuals/D-...ower%20Amp.pdf
There are also several threads here on TB about this amp - just do a search.
It sounds amazing - loud, present, deep, and punchy, but for those in the know about the "cascaded channel overdrive" feature exclusive to this amp, that feature seems to either be defeated or not working as it should. I've read that some customers had Mesa Boogie modify their D-180s to defeat this feature, but I can't be sure about this one. It may also simply be tired preamp tubes.
The amp shows some wear - nothing terrible; just your typical "rack rash" and some other scuffs here and there - not bad at all for a nearly 30-year old amp. There are also a couple of screws missing (and some mismatched) on the top cover, but the ones present hold the cover on securely. It also appears to have been owned, most likely originally, by a school in the same town the amp was built in - there's some etching on the back alluding to this. I believe the power cord was also replaced at some point.
Oh, I almost forgot - Cliff Burton fanboys (myself included!) - this is it, minus the graphic eq.
Asking price for this legendary all-tube amplifier -
$700 plus shipping & insurance in the CONUS - no Paypal, please - U.S.P.S. money order or bank cashier's check only - amp weighs about 45lbs and will be packaged securely.
Thanks for looking! Be well.
