| | Registered Schmoozer. | | | | | For what it's worth, I've discovered new (to me) tonal possibilities with my Shuttlemax by mixing the two channels. I set the FET side pretty much the way I like it. Set the tube side so that it just starts to break up when I hit it hard, then mix in the tube with the FET to taste (I might cut the bass out of the tube side, and boost it on the FET, depending). Just a bit of that tube breakup makes things really cut, and adds a lot of character to the sound. It doesn't even sound like distortion, mixed in like that. It just sounds like things are both more clear and more harmonically rich. Makes for killer fingerstyle, killer harmonics, and killer slap (and I've always liked things hyper-clean for slap -- never thought I'd like any grit). The low- and hi-end extend filters are very musical, and as subtle as you want them. Even the mid-scoop is useable, and I can't stand that on most amps. |

Thanks to all that have expressed interest. |
