SWR Bassic Black combo

Pre-Fender SWR Bassic Black Combo. $300 plus shipping, OBO. I've been using this with my DB but recently have been just going into the PA on smaller gigs or taking the big amp for the louder ones. Since I've picked up more upright work lately and this isn't getting used for it, I'd like to move it. Sounds absolutely amazing with my fretless J also.

15" speaker in a smallish cab yields a mid forward tone than gels nicely with the SWR's enhance knob. This combo winds up more flexible than you might think a 3 band amp would be as a result. These were big money combos back in the day ($1000 in early 90's).


Has carpet wear issues on the front edges. To be expected from a 20 year old amp. Replaced one of the fuse holders on the back. Also had what sounded like a bad solder joint fixed a while back. I've experienced no problems since.

I had one of these some years back and it was a great amp with some nice growl along with the tube preamp. Sorry I sold it.

Yep, the tone on these things is pretty amazing. Going to miss it, but I haven't been gigging it and I can't see the point in holding on to something that isn't being used. Still, my fretless J will really miss this thing.
