This is the older black face plate 1990's model. I used it 3x for a gig and it's pretty much sat in the garage since. I keep saying, I'll use it when I get playing in a band again........yea, right........reality being what it is, I have a nice SWR 400 W combo, I'm not likely to need more than that ever again.
Rather than evil ebay, I'd rather help out here for someone in more need than I.
The original version of our top of the line model. 350 watts RMS/channel stereo, 800 watts RMS mono @ 4 ohms, 2 independent switchable 3-band semi-parametric EQs, EQ footswitch, sidechain stereo and mono effects loops, effects blend control, tuner send, adjustable limiter, electronic crossover, XLR record out with pad and ground lift, fan, rack mountable.
Dimensions: 19"W x 3.5" x 13.75"D
Weight: 24 Lbs.
Production Period: 1991 to 1999
Final Retail Price: $1899.00
600$+ shipping.

Will also run stereo at 4 ohms each side, 2 ohms total so it is extremely versatile in output options.
This is the pre Fender amp, when SWR was making great amps.
PB, I have the SWR 900 users manual, PM me an addy and I will get it off to you if you need it. I am sure a buyer would like to have it.
Oh, and this amp is in the category of 'Best Amp for Metal'.
One caveat, if you rack mount the amp be sure the rack is well ventilated so the cooling fan can work as designed. These babies pack a punch and can build up some heat.
Edit: Here is the spec from the users manual.

Good venting is always a good idea.
Thanks for the offer Thor, I might take you up on it, sure you do not need a spare and run 2x SM900's together?
Yes, it will make the guitarist tone things down if need be.
Still up for sale, 600$ + actual ship, I'm not going to mess around with offers, this is the price and is very fair for the amp's condition and usage. Otherwise it'll go to ebay.
I charge actual shipping only.

I've had an SM-500 for 10 years without any problems. The 90's till early 2000's were SWR's golden years for great gear. This is a champagne amp on a beer budget!

As stated, I already have more gear than I know what to do with and will not be able to fully utilize this monster, and it's been sitting for a long time.
I fired it up and crap, I miss the good old days.......but nostalgia is not going to change reality.

This amp has a secret setting.
'Stun'.

Just wanted to be upfront about it.
