Does it have a cooling fan in it? According to SWR:

NOTE: UNITS MANUFACTURED AFTER SEPTEMBER, 1993 AND HAVING A SERIAL NUMBER GREATER THAN #6125 HAVE AN INTERNAL COOLING FAN.

I've got an early unit with no cooling fan; puts out an honest 450 watts on the bench with very little distotion; has been run hard for at least 20 years; never missed a beat; very high quality componenents
Sad day when these are only worth $250 assuming you want lound and very clear audio

This one does not have the fan. That would be the SM400S and this is the original SM400. I've seen a lot worse looking units sell for more here on TB. Pics coming soon.

these amps sound AWESOME and a cooling fan isn't really needed. They don't get that hot.

These are some of the BEST sounding amps and were boutique amps when they came out. They are 100% HANDMADE in CA !!
