SWR Studio 220 (ST-220) - Excellent Condition

Sign in to disble this ad
For those unfamiliar with the model, this is one of the earliest of the SWR heads, back before they were a Fender subsidiary when everything was still hand-wired. This amp is in fantastic condition for its age. I am the original owner and will provide the original sale receipt as proof (along with the original manual). Archived manual and specs can be found here:

http://swrsound.com/support/manuals/html/st220om.php

This thing has been unbelievably reliable over the years. It's great sounding amp, works great as a preamp and can be run as a DI without a cabinet attached. Perfect for studio work. It's always been stored in a rack case and I recently cleaned all the pots. Everything is original and works as it should. I simply have too many heads and too little cash and this one hasn't gotten the use it deserves the last couple of years.

Asking $220 shipped (CONUS), which I think is fair considering the exceptional condition, but I'll entertain reasonable offers. PM with questions.

The pic below has an ugly glare in the EQ section. Sorry about that. The front panel is actually pristine. In fact there are only the most minor scratches anywhere on the chassis. You'd be hard pressed to find one in nicer shape. Your satisfaction is my guarantee.

A few more pics can be found here:

I had one of these for 14 years and it never let me down once and for many of those years it ran 6 nights a week .
The only reason I went to something different was I wanted a change .
If i didn't have a Little mark for my grab and go I would snap this up in an instant.
I ran mine with a fan in a rack at 2 ohms with 2 x 210 stacked vertically and it would keep up to anything I threw at it .

Great piece of gear at a great price

cheers B.

I'll chime in with I played one of these as my first "real" amp and it was perfect for any small club I brought it too.........was reliable as hell and the sound was the best........I probably played it for 7 years straight and only sold it for something new..........you will not be dissapointed with what you can get from this amp!!

Bump for a price drop to $220 shipped (CONUS). That's a dollar a watt (at 4 ohms) and as low as I'm likely to go for this well preserved workhorse.

Also, not really looking for anything in trade, but I do use D'Addario EXL170 rounds and ECB81 Chromes pretty exclusively and would consider taking sets of those (long scale and unused only please) as partial payment if you have some sitting around that you don't need.
