TecAmp Puma 1000 w/Bag, Box, Rack Ears, etc.

I just ordered an XLS1500 and I'm going to do the tube preamp/power amp thing for heavy volume stuff and just use my Gallien MB-500 for everything else. So...

$1350 Firm Shipped

Includes original box and stuff that comes with it such as rack ears, and also the nifty TecAmp bag.

Aw man,

wish you woulda posted a WTB XLS1500 ad. I would offered my 3 month old XLS1500 plus a bag o' cash for your Puma. Or a bag o' micro-amps. You are talking about the CoreDrive amp right?

I use my XLS1500 with either Alembic F1-X or BBE Bmax (non-T) pres. I bridge the Crown into my UL410-II @ 8 ohms and it gets a massive tone with either pre.

Oh well, at the price these Crowns are going for, might as well buy new. I'm really diggin mine alot. And like you, I got a few micro-amps for those other things. Cool, good luck with your sale. I liked the Puma from Kjungs' vid of his 500 IIRC. Nice tone fer sure. AND BUMP!

1000 into 8ohm bridged... not 4ohm single cab capable. Amazing head at a very good price.

Bump

This is a confusing post. It is 4ohm single cab capable at 500W or 2x 4ohm cabs at 500W each. It is not 1000W into one single 4ohm cab capable.

+1 My wording was a bit fuzzy. My point was, this amp cannot be bridged into a single, large 4ohm cab. It is a great option for multiple 4ohm cab users, or those with a single, large 8ohm cab.

This is a GREAT amp for those 15/6 boxes!

I've just tried my Puma 1000 with 2xBarefaced Midget t's, that's 600 watts (300 from each amp into each 8 ohm cab) I also have a Shuttle 9 and really like both amps, but I have to say the Puma @600 watts doesn't feel less powerful than the Shuttle @900 watts. Both sound great, I hear a little more lows from the Puma, and the Shuttle is slightly harsher in the upper mids (EQ flat)

Yes, well, DriveCore actually
I wouldn't have bought it used though, so don't fret over it.
I just opened the box, anybody got suggestions for settings plugging into 2x Schroeder 15L's 4ohm 500W?

Well my U5 and the DriveCore are okay together but nothing to write home about. My real plan of using a VT box with it failed miserably. Waiting on my DB659 to come in on Wednesday to see how that sounds with it...might end up pulling the PUMA off the market, we'll see.

Dave

Keep the PUMA......If the U5 does not work for you I am not so sure you will like the aggie pre........that's just my 2 cents. I had the moedel you are getting and a db680. I liked the Avalon more! However........I could be wrong

Although I got a decent tone cutting the mid and jacking treb and bass on the Aggie, it's still no PUMA. Keeping it.
