Trace Elliot 5001 (tube pre, 280W rms/580 Peak) $425

Time to de-amp-ify a bit. (Who needs 6,100 watts, anyway?)

I've had this amp about three years now, and it has served very well as my jam-room amp for the past year. Not much use for it anymore since I've gone Tiny Terror, so I'll throw this out for the Talkbass horde and see who's GAS is greenest. Mine turned Orange.

Anyway, 280 watt RMS, 580 peak, see pics for connections and specs. Built in England and has the famous "glassy" TE tone. It's a very clean amp by nature, but can grit up if driven. (I'm thinking a Tone Hammer would kill through this amp if you want crunch.) Flexible EQ section, with a push/pull mid for more sweepability.

I'm in Portland, Oregon, so any local TB'ers interested are welcome to try it out. I'm guessing it weighs 35 pounds, so shipping is an option, but I'd like to avoid it if possible.

Offer away! (Pic of the internals shamelessly stolen from another listing.)

Shameless, disgusting, pitiful, wholly unacceptable self-bump.

I own one of these...incredible amp. One of the best hybrids ever made for rock in my opinion. I kept this over my SVT. I'm a Trace devote now.

Free bump for an GREAT amp.

Bump for a great amp, especially if you swap out the tubes for some high gain JJ's.

Thank you both. I just jammed with it through my Bag End 2x12 and 1x15/tweeter and damn it's crisp.

I'm mostly looking to sell outright, but would like a Tone Hammer so make me an offer!

If this Amp sounds SO good I can't imagine what a V6 or V8 would sound like.
