It's time to sell my beloved UK made, hand number Trace Elliot AH250SMX-GP12. This amp has never let down in any way. The sounds that you can get from this head are full and mind blowing. I always had complements from this head. Comes with the rack ears and the Trace enclosure (Sorry, not the one with the black light.) I am only selling because I have decided to totally convert to Genz Benz heads and will be using this sale to purchase a Shuttle 6.0 to use as the back up to my Shuttlemax 9.2. This Trace head will not disappoint. The original Trace Elliot tube is still installed, I swapped it for a JJ and while back and the amp just did not sound as good so I put the TE back in. Not sure what it's worth so I'm asking ~~$400~~ $325 Shipped CONUS, I need to clear $300 in-pocket, shipping in the CONUS will be about $25, so $325 shipped. If this price seems high, just let me know, as I said not sure of the value. The only flaw that I can find is on the LED for the stand by, its scratched...Let me know if better pics are needed, my camera was not wanting to cooperate. The Furman is not included, but the rack maybe if required to make the deal. MAKE AN OFFER!!! The only trades that I would be interested in would be a Genz Shuttle 6.0 + cash to you..

This is a great head here folks..old school Trace's hit hard and get a fantastic sound that does not disappoint.

They are a lot louder than what they are rated...British head's tend to be like that (Trace, Ashdown, etc...) and TONE FOR DAYS.

The 12 band EQ can get you anywhere sonically...and the compressor...it is, hands down, the best onboard compressor you will ever use....really, really functional.

Snap this up folks!

texan, i have to ask you.... do all your lights come on across the front of your bass head? if only half do what did you do to make them all work. fuse/bulb. have you ever looked under the chasis. did yours ever make snap crackle or pop sounds when you turned it off with or without the standby button pressed in? outside of these 2 small cosemetic and distortion issues i love this amp . i bought it used of course from guitar center. its my first head and i was real pumped about it. ive had these on going things continue and was hoping you had some answers. hope this isnt too bold. everthing works om my amp, [except lights & shut down silence] since day one. ive gigged with it practice daily with it. so it has done evrything its suppose to do . the 12 gpsmx tears it up and its diffinently louder than 250 watts. i hope you know whats the deal here and please email me if you can help. i appreciate your time. i know whom ever gets your amp well be tickled pink at all the possible tones and the volumn it has. i dont know what everything is really all about on this thing but its a trace elliot my first guitar teacher had the gear and i really dig the green. mark.

marksrick, If you have any trouble with your Trace, send it to British Audio Service in Chicago. They'll go through it and make it better than new.

+1 for British Audio Service, but I deal with the guys in Nashville. They are the Trace experts!! Plus they have just about every NOS spare parts you could want!!

BUMP for another Trace head I am trying to justify the fund to buy!!

Marksrick, all lights work, and I have not had any snap, crackles or pops on mine. The head has always worked without issue. As the others have said, British Audio Service has a great reputation. I have never used them for repairs, but I know some who have and they do great work.

much obliged tb,ers. bump for trace.. 1/2 lit traces rule! thank you for exchanges on british audio. these questions of mine are really tacky especially on a site i am new too. your selling quality products & i,m whinning over insignificant stuff.. i should be greatful i even have a trace elliot.. markrick....btw see 2 mesa 400+ heads on ebay right now at 825-850 in newly listed. hardly zip on the trace especially the v-type series..
