Trace Elliot GP7SM Head w/case in excellent condition

Sign in to disble this ad
I am moving out some more of my gear. This is a UK made Trace Elliot GP7SM head. It is rated at 130 watts @ 4 ohms, but most people feel these ratings are conservative. The preamp sounds great and is very flexible. You can get a wide range of sounds out of it.

I would rate the condition of this head as excellent. In my experience, most of the older Trace gear that I see for sale is beat to hell. That is not the case here. On the head itself, there are virtually no scratches or imperfections. It is not faded, and all of the lettering appears to be perfect. The buttons all work properly. The previous owner "upgraded" two EQ knobs, but it is completely stock otherwise. The case has a couple of minor scuffs and nicks, but is in remarkable condition as well.

Price is $279 $249 plus shipping. I am putting this up for sale to fund some other gear purchases so I would prefer a sale, but I always consider trade offers if you would like to make one. Please PM me with any questions. Thanks!

Bump

I had one of these for years, and really loved it.
It is much louder than 130 watts, to be sure.
Great head for a small to medium sized rock gig. slight over-drive or crunchy sound out of these is just gorgeous IMO.
Great back up head or pair with an efficient 4ohm 2x10 and be prepared to be shocked at how much volume you can get.
Built very solidly as well. If you are looking at this but are unsure about older trace elliot gear, trust me, this is the good stuff.

Question- in the pic for the back panel, the speaker jacks clearly say "Speaker 8 ohms" WHY would you run it with a 4 ohm cab??

Because it is rated for 4 ohms. You can run two 8 ohm cabinets producing a 4 ohm load, or one 4 ohm cabinet producing a 4 ohm load.
