Trace Elliot TVT9 preamp.
This is built for guitar, but can be used for bass as well. 2 channels. It contains 8 12ax7 tubes.
It has an attached power cord that was extended.
Works great. No scratchy pots at all. Nice and clean.
$275 shipped within the continental U.S.

hey bro, what's the white saturation thing on the upper right? And how would you compare the tone to the V-type pre? It certainly has a lot of Ax7s!

It's actually a tube that glows from each side, increasing with the level. It's pretty cool.
Honestly, I haven't given it enough time for a review. I bought it, used it for about 10 minutes, and haven't used it since. The 4 different levels of Drive are very cool, especially if you like dirt/distortion built in.
I will clean it up tonight, and give it some more play time. From the short time I used it, it sounded great. I can't make a fair comparison yet though.

The preamp is all clean, and sounds great. No scratchy pots or any issues at all. It's not really a fair comparison to the V-Type preamp because the V-Type is meant just for bass. The TVT9 was created for guitar, and can be used for bass. The TVT9 has different levels of drive/distortion, which are very cool. I would say it's not as "warm" as the V-Type, but it can certainly get tons more drive & distortion.
If I had a use for it, and was in a band now, I would be keeping it. I've been on a spring cleaning kick, so it's moving along with a few other items I'm not using. Thanks.
