| | For Trade: Ampeg VT-22
I picked up this 70's era Ampeg VT-22 recently with the intention of restoring it or possibly removing the amplifier portion and putting it in a separate head shell. Nevertheless, I've come to the realization that I'm not going to get around to fixing it so I figured that I might pass on the project to someone else with more technical capabilities than I.
Here's what I know:
The VT-22 is essentially a 2x12 combo version of an Ampeg V4. This one has been used and, although it fires up and sounds, it definitely could use a good checkup/cleaning by a tech. There is definitely some static and unwanted noise when you play through it. Also, the input jack for Input Two is missing (although it may have simply slipped inside of the hole on the faceplate).
The speakers look to be replaced with vintage Peavey Scorpions. The cab and grill cloth are in passable / ok shape.
This is definitely a project piece but the VT-22 is a classic and somewhat rare amp. "The view is definitely worth the climb" for the right person. In the amp's current shape, I honestly have no idea what a fair asking price would be so I've decided to put it up for trade and see what kind of offers I receive. I'll post pics shortly and please PM me if you have any questions.
