Hey thanks for the interest. The only heads Im really looking at are the Aguilar AG500, PJB M500, EBS TD650 and most especially the Thunderfunk. Thanks!

So.... one trade fell thru..... still here

This is the ideal step-up if you use the Thunderfunk TFB and need more power, crossover, or run more than 2 cabs.

Also the perfect move if you're a control freq and want to swap to a preamp with parametrics or more features.

Aside from the heads listed above, Im especially jonesing for

Aguilar DB659
Demeter VTBP or HBP
PJB P-1
Ashdown Rpm-1

Be careful what you ask for!

Have you ever played a DEMETER VTBP-201 before? In my opinion, they are the most colorless amp that I've ever owned.I have a Eden Metro to compare the two, and unless I've got a bad tube in my VTBP-201, they are the most transparent preamp that I own. You get exactly the sound of your bass, without much help from the DEMETER tube section. In my opinion the Eden offers more tonal qualities from it's tube section than the Demeter. In fact I have added a Rane PE 15 parametric eq to coax the tones that I want. A very sanitary, clean untouched sound is what you will get from a Demeter VTBP-201. I am laid off from work, and money is tight for shipping and insurance charges, or I would jump all over your Navigator. Maybe it's time to check my tubes in my Demeter.

Here is a pic

Here is a picture before I added the Rane PE 15. I used my SANSAMP to get the tones I needed. Maybe you should go for the other DEMETER preamp.

Hmmm.... while I did find the VTBP to be very tight and clean, I didnt find it to be unpleasantly so.... The Eden does offer more "range" of tube sounds than the VTBP to be sure...

Of the Dem's I much prefer the HBP, but I can get everything I need from a VTBP. The Eden does offer more... more of just about everything in fact. More than I can use at this point. I'm not aching to get rid of it... since I will need to buy a compressor to mach up with whatever pre I trade for, unless I get lucky and find an ISP Beta or PJB P-1. However, none of my reasons for wanting to trade this off are very good ones..... this is the nature of GAS.....

I understand completely

Just trying to give you a heads-up on the VTBP-201. People that say that the 201 is a tone monster must have different tubes in theirs. Maybe it's time I opened mine up to see if everything is ok. I paid 475.00 for mine on Ebay, and to tell you the truth, I was not impressed. I also own the HBP which deserves nothing but praise. Good luck with those GAS pains.

Yeah the way you describe yours makes me wonder if we've played the same pre! My favorite tubes for that pre are JJs or hi-gain Sovetks.

I'd be more than happy to relieve you of your HBP-1 of course...

HBP IS TO DIE FOR

I bought mine new from GC and I was actually pissed that it was the newer model. I always believed that simplicity was the truest form of art. To my astonishment, the eq section is unlike any other parametric eq , and gives you a library of tones. Not familiar with the other pre-amps but the HBP/ Stewart 2.1 is the amp I use when we open for nationally known acts, and they know that I'm serious about my music. But I always remember that gigging with my Metro/410T paid for my DEMETER. I would love to have your NAVIGATOR. GOOD LUCK, Bass Brother!
