US Ampeg PortaBass head/cab - Ohio

Sign in to disble this ad
Up on the block this time are my US made PortaBass "PB250" 250 Watt amp, and my "PB110H" 200 Watt (rms)10" + horn speaker enclosure.

I am original owner of both, they were sold N.O.S to me one year ago, I still have the original hang-tags, ffs.

10" cabinet has been kept clean, in a smoke free environment, no tears in the covering, no dents or scratches on the metal grill, or jack plate, no animal hairs anywhere to be seen, I'm talkin' showroom floor clean! Über light 10" enclosure, no scale here, but Id estimate 5 lbs. You can literally play hot potato with it. (Though I wouldn't recommend it. ) The horn has a level adjust, as seen in the following pictures. This thing is tight, responsive, and very clear. I almost hate to get rid of it, but since purchasing my SVT-410HE, this thing gets ZERO play! Such a shame for such a beautiful piece of equipment.

The amp has seen a bit more use, but has not been abused. I set the gain and master identical, only peaking when I really get into it. Gigged lightly, but mostly a practice amp. (I plug in direct at shows so no need to crank her up. You can see my settings in the pics, this is the most I've ever turned her up. 250 solid state Watts, id say weighing in roughly at 12-15lbs. 1/4" and Neutrik speaker outs, and line out. Efx loop, with blend knob. Pre/post and Ground/lift buttons on rear as well. 4 ohm minimum load. Passive and active (-12dB) inputs. Gain, master, low, low mid, high mid, high knobs with ultra low and ultra high buttons as well as shifts for each mid control. (Not sure of the frequencies here, I would assume low mid is 500/800 though.) Brushed Aluminum face plate has scuffs and scratches, the top also sports a few scuffs and tape rash. One of the rubber "feet" on the side of the amp is missing, but who stands their amps up anyway? All is PURELY COSMETIC! This thing looks great, it just doesn't match the tone in my head.

I'm asking $370(USD) for the pair. I do not want to split the pair, as I want to pass them both on. This is a killer practice setup, and would be ideal for recording. To be honest, I would love to mic the cab and 50/50 it, it sounds that good. I prefer local or semi-local sale (will drive 1 hour away from 45805.) but will ship if you eat fees.

Both are made in St. Louis, Missouri by SLM Electronics! This is a chance to own some kick ass US made Ampeg gear for a steal. PM me with enquiries or photo requests. Unfortunately I will not be accepting trade deals unless you're looking to get rid of a ~200Watt tube head + cash on my end or a killer power amp + cash from you. (Model pending)

Thanks for looking.

I dont have a scale, it feels equal to the weight of my Zon, I'd say its in the 9-11lb region, but probably closer to 9.

Alright, I just got pulled over for expired tags, and the citation is $110, and plates will run me around $40ish, and of course this stupid state is going to tax me with a late fee, thus jacking the grand total up to somewhere around enough for me not to use this money towards paying off new gear.

This REALLY needs to go THIS week.

Welcome to Ohio, empty your pockets and bend over... I should have never left Florida, lol.

I feel ya man; I just got pulled over for running a stop sign on a road I've been down a thousand times before. I gotta pay a fine of 140 bucks! Gotta love Ohio though, it's one of those things where I can rag on it all I want but if someone else does then I defend it like it's my kid, ya know?
