Angry Vintage Ampeg B-15 flip-top combo NEW PICS and Problem...

Sign in to disble this ad
NO LONGER FOR SALE-
It's not powering up at all right now- not sure what happened.
I checked the fuse, and it's not that simple.
Guess I have to take it into the repair shop to find out what's up.
I've added a pic just cuz now I have one to post.

Yes, you read it right. Can't believe I'm selling it but I haven't used this/ felt like schleping this amp in a long time. This is what appears to be a mid-seventies B-15s that I've had in storage for years. I used to use it as a practice amp at home.
It IS NOT mint but pretty good considering:
-2 small tears in the blue and silver grill cloth and 1 stain;
-spray painted red "all- city band" stencil on the side (it could probably be cleaned off with out damage to the tolex but I've never tried);
-Needs a new 12au7and 12dw7 tube, but with this it should be 100% functional.
-Mounted on casters.
-power tubes are old Magnavox (!)
Latches, handles are 100% functional.
Tolex is in good shape, other than the stenciling.
Faceplate is excellent+ condition, especially considering the age of this thing.
I haven't used it in 3 years.
Asking $450 and local pick-up only. No exceptions. I really want the buyer to see this in person before selling it. Better yet, bring a 12au7 and 12dw7 preamp tube and we'll test it out together before finalizing the sale. This thing belongs in a recording studio where it can be loved for it's all tube, vintage goodness but not moved around. Very heavy!
I'll answer all questions (serial #s) details etc. So just ask.

Just to clarify...

This amp is NOT CURRENTLY FUNCTIONAL. It is powering up but not passing signal, I'm fairly certain that it's one or both of the tubes mentioned in the original post.
Also- this deal is for in-person, cash (or maybe a money order) in hand only. This is a delicate, vintage (approx. 35 years old!) piece of gear. I want to be able to walk the buyer through every bit of what I know about it so that there are no suprises for anyone.
Hope that makes sense.

Your a cool dude. I am going up to Fort Wayne for a job interview, I will look for some tubes to use as a test and maybe swing by.
