Vintage Music Man RH 118 Bass Cab. Excellent Condition. * Reduced Price.
I have my original Music Man 118 RH speaker for sale. (The Amp head has been sold.) The cab and speaker are original and I am the second owner of that part.
The set up plays clean and has that very warm vintage sound. You don't get anymore vintage vibe than this! The important components to the cabinet is all original. I did perform some cosmetic clean ups to it along the way including adding ernie ball casters in 2002. The metal corners were replaced in 2009. I primed and repainted the metal cuffs to the handles from its aging chrome to black. Before installing the casters, I decided to cover a handful of small tears in the tolex with weatherproof duct tape. (I couldn't justify spending the money to reupholster the entire bottom.) I'll remove the casters before boxing the cab. See the photolink for everything.
Local pick up will obviously save you on shipping. I did one shipping estimate to Denton TX. The cab came in at $80.
However because shipping is expensive, I'll exact things at the end. The buyer will pay the estimate and agree to a final adjustment in the shipping cost. After I get the invoice, I will either tell you if there is money owing or whether you will get a partial refund of the shipping. I'll provide you with the UPS shipping receipt.
Sweet! I'm sure that cab rocks! Tell us more about how it sounds.
The 18" sounds great. It handles everything well. Highs to Lows. But lows especially well. Very clean on that front.
There is no tweeter and as many of you know back in the day that cabs were built for basses none of them carried tweeters. But this does have a very slick reflex port on the bottom. I think the cab would have a terrible vibration problem if it weren't for the reflex port. It stabilizes and allows the interior speaker sound a place to escape.
Even though the rating is 150W, with the size and the reflex port , it comes off like 200W.
