Vintage Peavey Mark IV Head & 2x15 Cabinet

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's a blast from the past. 1982 Peavey Mark IV amplifier with a matching 215 Black Widow cabinet. Made in the USA, built like a tank and crazy clean for the age as it wasn't gigged. The head has plenty of power and tone shaping features and the cab has impressive presence for a 2x15. Includes original slip covers.

$500 $450 or may trade - pickup only in central Ohio. On the fence about selling it because it's a cool period rig - but not playing it and really need to make some room.

Damn, I wish I lived in Ohio! I love these old Peaveys, one of the most underated bass amps out there. I'd trade you my BABP L1000 even for it, but I've got no way of getting it....

Thanks guys. Not needing much bass-wise right now...but that Wunkay would be perfect Gary....so

I'm kinda looking for a clean Ampeg fridge cab from the late 80s or 90s - a 2x15 or 8x10 plywood cab.

Shipping the BW cab would probably be cost prohibitive.

My GK is giving me probs right now, took out my Peavey Mark IV out of the closet last night and it fired right up its been maybe 20yrs since its been out, have the matching 15/16 bottom also. No $$ to spend right now and a gig in 2 weeks. I'm sure it will get me thru. A true work horse.

Wow, that brings me back in time. I played with that exact setup for a few years and then went with a 1810 cab instead of the 2x15. I should have just continued using the 2x15 cab.

Man, I wish I lived closer as that would be awesome to have. Bump for a neat rig and a very cool blast from the past!

Free bump for a great old head.
Should never have traded mine for a tube Traynor.

I had one just as clean paired with an equally clean Yamaha S215 cabinet, even had the footswitch for channel selection.
Sold the cab when the band broke up, I couldn't move it by myself.

Wow...are you the original owner? I asked becasue this looks identical to the rig I once played down to the slip covers, and sold it off in favor of a Fender 400 rackmount head and cabinets. I bought it from Marysville Music.

I started off with a 74 EB-0 through it and then went to a Gibson Victory Artist- it was very woofy. Amazing how my tastes have changed since I was a kid.

No, but likely bought it from the original owner. He never learned how to play bass much, so very little mileage on this rig. I don't find the tone to be "woofy" at all really, so must have been in large part the Gibson bass tone. I know those old EB-0s can make 10s sound like 18s, haha.

Great rig, I had one in the early 1980's all it needs is a Fender Precision and a blues gig.

Wow, I used this exact rig from 89 to about 97, except this one doesn't look like it had 20 beers spilled on it.
Its a workhorse.
