***SOLD***This is the 1200 watt @ 4 ohms (Blue Light) amplifier of legend. Serial #010198 (mmddyy) which would be New Year's Day 1998. It functions perfectly and it sounds amazing! Many claim the 1997-1998 run yielded the finest of these amplifiers. It is in very good condition, comes with the Mooradian bag w/ shoulder strap, also in very good condition. Walter did an inspection on this unit a few months back and there were no issues and no mods required, so, it is all original with a clean bill of health. $2600 shipped to the lower 48.
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Ever since I bought one last year, I have not touched another amp AND I love it so much (and know that Walter is unfortunately not going to be building these forever), that recently I bought another used as a backup AND one for a friend that heard mine (both through TB) and could no longer play his old amp after hearing it....

You have a pair of WWUs? My guess would be that you have no worries at all about having the tone you need/love, no matter what - Sweet!

I'm used to SVT Classic and Mesa 400+ tube heads, but I also have a GK2000RB head as well. Volume-wise could this Walter Woods handle the same type of shows that those three heads can? Festival rock shows? Man, I'd love to try one out but that's a significant price tag to take a shot on something... |

They will faithfully reproduce whatever is coming out of your signal chain -- good, bad or ugly. I haven't seen many around the Festival Rock circuit, however...not sure how many $2,600 amps make it there! Quote:

I've never pushed this amp to anywhere close to its limit but I'm confident it would have reserve power and headroom beyond any of these other amps at equal volume, but you'd really have to do a real world comparison to understand what the differences are. As Just Thumpin' says in his post "LOUD and CLEAN" - also very warm and accurate. Hope that helps some. |
